Has anyone bought the rebadged Tevion version of this? Mother in law was looking at them to replace their VCR and was wondering if there were any problems with this version?Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Well the only difference I can see is the name and model number on the front panel obviously. Also the front panel inset is black rather than chrome and the hole in the inset mask is slightly larger on the Tevion so the STANDBY/REC LED looks significantly brighter then on the Technosonic.

Oh my gawd, it's too bright on the Tech-no-sound! You'll need to see an optician soon then!
Like Silent Bob, I'm really pleased with ours. But it still has a habit of missing starts and ends of recordings. I'm beginning to think it is the broadcasts though and wish they would find a better way of cueing the recordings.0 -

It is because the programs often start earlier or finish later than scheduled.
My Sky Box also has this issue when linked to DVD recorder
The Humax 9200T now has a padding option, so you can add time to the start and end of recordings.0 -
It's easy enough to just change the start and finish times. I always change them to start one minute early and finish about five minutes late. That generally works but I do find that programmes shown during the night are likely to start whenever someone feels like it rather than when they are scheduled so usually add about 10 minutes to the end.

But that defeats the object of one-touch programming.
Besides, sometimes even 15 minutes isn't enough. We were away for the last 'Apprentice' programme. Set the timer to record the rerun on BBC3 (or wherever) and that seemed to start over 20 mins late!
Extending the start or end of a recording time also creates problems if you want to record a preceding or following programme on another channel. It will tell you you have a conflicting recording time.0 -
True. But better than missing something as a last resort.
