Aldi - Technosonic PVR £99.99 - Freeview

I've got a new problem - happened a few times now. When turning it on from standby, hitting menu - recordings list then selecting a programme - upon pressing ok or play the machine just locks solid straight away requiring a power cycle. Never lost anything afterwards though.

Have you looked at the Humax PVR's as alternatives? They are award winners and better priced I believe. I bought this one and I am delighted with it (don't say that very often!):

Is your hard disk nearly full? This can happen if it runs out of disk space.

Netto have a twin tuner Goodmans PVR tomorrow (13th) for £99.95. The handset looks identical to the Aldi one so it may be the same machine in a different case.

Most of the time my 101 behaves and I'm pleased with it. Last night, however, I tried to watch a recorded programme and it just froze, requiring a reboot. It was fine after that.

I find the Aldi box is now working fine for me. I never switch it to standby however.

I have set up recordings to repeat each week and this is working fine BUT when I want to edit the 'timers list' to remove one of these repeated recordings, I cannot find a way to delete just the one recording from the list. CAN ANYONE HELP?

The blue button is for deleting the whole list which I do not want to do.

If you open up the EPG and go to the programme you have set the unwanted timer for, just press the record button again and it removes it from the timers list.

DTG are showing a a new "technotrend" download scheduled for the 27th April. Doesn't say what models it's for though, Guess it could be for one of the standard STB's.

The Netto picture of the PVR is identical to the Goodmans GHDD1785DVBT as shown on the Argos site plus the reference to the Argos price of £129.99 virtually confirms that the Netto unit is the Goodmans version of the PVR101.

Do the Netto prices include VAT?

They do. Netto is a bit like Aldi but a bit more rough and ready and like Aldi when they're gone they're gone!
