Not sure whether that was a spoof or not....but I do use Excel and I do religiously update it every time I make a transaction/open a new account/rate changes on an account (assuming I've spotted it..). I don't however have a 4 drawer filing cabinet.
Not started at the top of the thread, so I'm not sure what's being counted as 'an account'. What about multiple accounts at one bank? What about ISAs - are they included?
If its 'only' number of different banks, then despite updating religiously I no longer know. I kind of threw my hands up in the air a few weeks ago and gave up: B&B, does that count now its part of Abbey? What about A&L, does that count as separate from Abbey now they are both part of Santander. Thankfully I don't have an existing account with ING (closed about 12 months back) so at least there is no confusion as to whether my KE account counts as an additional one or just 1.
And the good news is my ISA situation was simplified a bit when I rolled 3 of 'em up into one ISA provider. The bad news is...you guessed it, it was IceSave.0 -
OK, I had to just go and check.
12 instant access, (OK, one of them has only £1 in it so doesn't really count); 4 term based of varying duration (one less than I had 5 days ago); 3 ISA accounts; 2 regular savers; 3 NS&I sets of index linked certifcates. Plus a set of PBs (but they don't count as an account).
Plus of course my CA.
Not as bad as I thought.
And in danger of getting fewer in number by the day without any action from me.....0 -

Opened another account today.
B&B e-saver.
Found it strange though, that instead of logging into the bank you want to transfer funds from to transfer to B&B.
You have to ask B&B to get the money from the other bank.
At least, that's how it appears.
Not done it yet of course, as the account isn't up and running yet.
Although, I did fill in for them to take a dd for the deposit (to be taken next week) to start the account.0 -
I haven't opened an account for three days
Oops, not strichly true. I opened a Lloyds internet saver, but I already have a c/a with them. It was just somewhere to earn a few pence more than my c/a. I can transfer to and fro instantly.
I also signed up to Save the Change: every little bit counts0 -
For once I'll be very serious. It is absolutely imperative that all your bank account passwords and memorable words etc are kept very well hidden. Burglar Bill is no longer interested in the family silver, the contents of your filing cabinet can be much more lucrative. In memory of Chris Hyde #8670

Stay clear of ICICI,if your experience is anything like mine has been, they are a waste of Time. Nice rates yes, especially on the Fixed Rate Account, but get a reply to Internal mails on their WebSite. Ask them to do anything, Telephone them, forget it,the are useless! They Ignore mails, fobb you off on the phone with all kinds of promises and do nothing!!0 -
I do this as well but became worried that a burglar might steal my list of passwords and bank account details so I now slip the page into my back pocket whenever I leave the house. You can't be too careful :rotfl:0
