HELP! I can't stop opening new savings accounts!!

I've just opened four new accounts this week as I've been a bit sloppy leaving a bit too much in my high interest current accounts (one has the high interest period finishing this month anyway)
took a while to decide as I wanted a good spread and one with easy access, as most of mine is tied up in regular savers or fixed rate bonds.
Nationwide (e-Bond) - waiting for FlexAccount first, but 6.5% fixed for a year
NatWest (e-Savings) - 6.50% variable with easy access and no need for a current account
Alliance & Leicester e-Saver (Issue 2) - 6.60% with £20 cashback
Co-operative (Fixed Term Deposit) - 2 years fixed @ 6.59%
Missed out on the Egg fixed 6.3% so the above will do for another year...
This on top of my current Northern Rock 1 Year Fixed Bond, LTSB Fixed Cash ISA, NS&I Index Linked Certs (Issue 15), Halifax Regular Saver, LTSB Regular Saver and A&L e-Saver (soon to be defunct and tranx funds to new Issue 2).
Have to be more careful when moving money about so not to lose interest :rolleyes:I would normally have a cup of tea0 -

I used to have that problem, so now I keep them all written down on a piece of paper next to my computer titled "Bank Usernames/Passwords".
Also to make it so I have less passwords I have got rid of my computer password, so I can get in to my computer without a password now :money:
Hope this helps.0 -

I have been using MS Money for years but Microsoft are now longer supporting the UK version, and I could do with something a little more up-to-date.
Anyone know of any good software I could upgrade to (must have import from MS Money)?0 -
I use MS Money 2007 and never bother with any of the updates etc. I balance all my accounts manually rather than import in any bank statements as I never log on to the Live Windows ID on the front page. I'm paranoid about someone being able to see into my accounts if I do :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to pick 32,193,624 memorable data for each account.
"Memorable place between 8-10 characters"
How many people even have *a* memorable place, let alone one within that narrow length band?!?
Back to the topic at hand: I loathe having accounts all over the place. These sorts of things cause massive junk mail build ups over the years (no matter how many "LEAVE ME ALONE" boxes you tick, or how many times you tell 'em), and I really don't like giving lots of companies access to my personal details. Not to mention, it increases your risk of being a victim of a bank break in (electronic or otherwise). That said, I'm getting close to a hand-full of fingers worth of active accounts

I, too, have succumbed to this new variant of OCD:
Opening Compensation-safe Deposit-accounts
I've now been clean - haven't used (an application form) - for 9 hours and 14 minutes. Thankyou for your support.0 -

My software of choice is GnuCash, which will import from MS Money, according to the docs.
Edit: I thought you stipulated that it had to be free. I must be seeing things
. GnuCash IS free, so that's an added bonus! 0 -
