Utter garbage. Dangerous, depressing garbage. The BNP are a nasty, racist bunch who are not worthy of any decent person's support. Whatever support comes their way is fuelled by the deliberately inflammatory, distorted and false press reporting that puts it about that Christmas has been banned.

No different to ANY other political party then, that use spin, mud slinging, and inflammatory, distorted and false press reporting. Yes BNP are a nasty bunch, and racist, but unfortunately, they are also popular, they do get growing support, I always assumed in the UK, its the votes that count, not the party.

May I just iterate that Christmas isn't banned, whereas the quoting "Merry Christmas" particularly in the City or High St "IS", replaced by the PC brigade to "Seasons Greetings" or even more ridiculously "Happy Holidays".

That doesn't mean it's "banned" because of the nonexistant "PC brigade". It means, as in reality, there's more than one religious holiday during December, and saying "Happy Holidays" neatly encompasses them all.

For christ's sake, how did we get so many paranoid loons in this country? You don't mention the majority's personal beliefs outright and they go up in arms, feeling they're threatened. They're not! You could, as a shop owner, put up a big sign saying "Merry Christmas" if you feel like it! There's nothing stopping you!

I mean, put it this way; I'll believe Christmas is banned by the ephemeral and again nonexistant PC brigade as soon as the following stop airing ads specifically mentioning Christmas: The BBC, ITV, Sky Digital, MTV, Sky One, John Lewis, Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrison's, ASDA, Debenhams, Coca Cola, WH Smith and Woolworths. What do those companies have in common? They ALL aired ads, programmes or idents specifically mentioning and naming Christmas last year, and weren't opposed, sanctioned or criticised for it. I expect the same will happen this year.

The "banning Christmas" thing exists only in the minds of Daily Mail/Telegraph/Express "journalists" who take a couple of councils or schools out of the thousands across the country who do something stupid, add some "Muslims asked for it! Evil darkies!" spin to it and then pretend as if it's a sign of impending doom. And, of course, then people believe this and act as if a banner saying "holidays" instead of "Christmas" is the evil brown people getting priority over them. I honestly thought the British (yes, British, idiocy stretches into Scotland and Wales too) people would see such rubbish for the absolute horsesh*t that it is. Apparently not.

Also, while I'm ranting, don't blame liberals. I am a liberal, I have no problem with anybody saying anything at all, happy holidays, Merry Christmas, whatever, and I think those on either side who are offended by what the other side is saying (the loons objecting to "Happy Holidays", the very few people who object to "Merry Christmas") are bickering and stupid. It doesn't matter. Someone, somewhere is wishing you a happy time at what may depending on your religion or personal feelings be a holiday for you, feel nice for it, move on.

And to Kiwifruitloop I suggest you read the WHOLE post where I categorically state it was recieved by me from a friend.

was there really any need for that

and humble apologies but I just cant seem to see anywhere on your original post where you say it was sent to you from a friend.....you do however say, 'I received......' which is misleading....no need for name calling really was there!!!!
    'Normal' is a dryer setting.
  • THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

You're allowed to fly the goddamn flag of England on !!!!!!!g St Georges Day. I find it offensive that people still keep putting this rubbish around, even though every St Georges Day you can't go four metres without a pub, car or private dwelling displaying that bleeding flag.

England isn't being eradicated. No, it's really not. Put down the Daily Mail, it's not being eradicated. Yes, the government has a lot of Scotsmen, but they're not eradicating England. Tesco are selling "English" butter as "British", BOTH ARE TECHNICALLY CORRECT.:mad::mad:
The church of england fly the st georges flag every year with out fail not just on that day either.
  • As i have said xmas, st georges flag , and any other english type of thing is not banned.
I had an argument with a bnp candidate via the local media over his accusations this was actually taking place .
There is no law in the uk which bans any english man celebrating his englishness they can organise fun days etc etc which is where myself and the bnp candidtae clashed he was spouting lies and the gullible lady/gents who feel they are being hard done by followed his argument like sheep.
He complained fun days and forigen farmers markets were taking over england NOT TRUE it was just nobodys bothered organiseing a day to celebrate all that is england.
My argument was many english people have lost or have no class there is a big difference ,they care about nothing, the girls have turned in to vicky pollard, and english country garden has become not a thing of beuty but a 6x4 shed a few plastic pots and a trampoline, at the coast its bingo halls and slot machines followed by kiss me quick hats four pints of lager and a vomit down the street , respect has gone and there are more broken families than hot dinners, mind you even a good sunday roast has been replaced by a micro meal.
Take a trip elswhere italy/france/usa/families always come first there is still respect for parants and other adults , the pc brigade have damaged the uk not england with some of there silly clap trap the ordinary british citizen is destroying the uk not just england.class is what is needed even the poorest of men use to have that and there high standards,
    now many just dont care.
    take a trip around europe

You seem insistent on looking to attack any post, in any manner, for your attention I will RE-reiterate, as you seem confused, "CHRISTMAS ISN'T BANNED". Nobody is OFFENDED by saying MERRY CHRISTMAS, what is offensive is being told NOT TO say it, because it might OFFEND others. I like my Merry Christmas, and have no intention of going around saying "happy holidays" to make it convenient to all other creeds.

Still I will allow you your mindless attacking of posts, when losing your own argument, so you can rephrase it into and I quote your INCORRECT interpretation of it "the very few people who object to "Merry Christmas") are bickering and stupid. It doesn't matter" what I object mostly to, are those bickering and stupid replies by posters who cannot interpret what a poster is actually saying, being to busy to simply look for somebody to "argue" with, whether or not they agree with the post.

Surely the name English E English is free?
  • i dont know how true this is, but i've heard (from more than one source) that stating you are 'English' (i.e on monitoring forms etc) is now illegal and you have to state you are 'British'. I was born in England, to English parents and live in England, however, further back in my family tree my heritage spans Ireland, Scotland, Denmark and Italy.
    Am i just 'European'?
As for the banning of Christmas, the primary school over the road to my house has banned christmas for years, its now 'Winter Festival' and my workplace is the same. We can't have christmas decorations, they are 'winter decorations'.
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
