I could argue how I find it offensive that I am not allowed to fly the flag on St Georges day in case it offends other nationalities
THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.
You're allowed to fly the goddamn flag of England on !!!!!!!g St Georges Day. I find it offensive that people still keep putting this rubbish around, even though every St Georges Day you can't go four metres without a pub, car or private dwelling displaying that bleeding flag.
England isn't being eradicated. No, it's really not. Put down the Daily Mail, it's not being eradicated. Yes, the government has a lot of Scotsmen, but they're not eradicating England. Tesco are selling "English" butter as "British", BOTH ARE TECHNICALLY CORRECT.:mad::mad:0 -
Now where have I hear the words "sile mairin" and "I have no time for the BNP.
Ah yes the Telegraph.

Oh and while we're on the same topic of losing Englishness there's another "sile mairin" post in a tory litter tray http://conservativehome.blogs.com/platform/2007/01/christine_const/comments/page/2/
Here's a "sile mairin" using the word "saltaire" on the Herald http://www.theherald.co.uk/news/news/display.var.1935328.0.Post_Office_set_to_reveal_list_of_80_branches_to_be_closed.php
You're not concerned in anyway with Money Saving Expertise. You are only concerned with spouting your political views.
You still could be a sock puppet, I'm betting its just another post in the same vein as your others and we'll see no more activity on the the forum than this.
By the way "pwned" is "owned" misspelt. Google it on an urban dictionary. Wiki it. You could improve your "puter" skills.0 -

Well goodness gracious me, Miss Marples you are I am afraid way off the mark I will change my name henceforth must be a case of great minds think alike. I have been the proud owner of a computer for exactly two months prior to that I did an evening class to learn the basics, thus my lack of puting skills. as for whether I will post on here again, can't see why not, I have heard Martin Lewis speak and admired what he has to say thats how I found this site. saw consumer vent, which brings me back to now so unless you are frogmarching me off to be shot at dawn. cya soon..0 -

I can vouch personally that in my town, St Georges day isn't celebrated, were not allowed to fly the flag! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/1939821.stm Sorry to dispell your myth, but that is factual and TECHNICALLY CORRECT!!!!! put down the Sunday Sport, welcome to reality!ShelfStacker wrote: »THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

Personally I couldn't give a hoot if it was you posting there your arguement still holds water whatever your motive, your heritage is important, as I said as a Welshman I have known the difference between privately and publicly displaying my own, it's not so long ago the boot was on the other foot.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I get easily confused you see.
The Gaelic "sile mairin". Is that Beloved Sheila or Bitter Sheila, or a cryptic beloved Isle. Worried about the loss of English identity? A Gael would like a strong English nation to push forward the possibility of a break up of the Union. Did you get given the user name as well as the content?
Plagirism of a blog as your first post, nice.
Posting on a consumer board issues that relate to political national identity not consumption. You don't even shop at Tesco.
Copying from a blogger who wouldn't speak his mind in a pub in Newlyn. Would like to see Tesco recognize England but is not prepared to acknowledge Cornwall. Most Gaels would and the English don't care.
Its funny how all the Sile Mairin posts have the same content no matter where and when they get posted. What is it about "sile mairin" as a user name that means it never pops up on an ordinary post? I can't find any Sile Mairin talking about the weather, how good the apple crop is, saying hello to mates, remarking on interest rates etc.
Pick a different user name and pop back on to chat about money saving and I'll rush over to give you a hug. Frog marching might be the first thought on your mind but we don't do that round here.
If you want to post this kind of political claptrap then I think the Pub is the polite place where to put it.0 -
Now people say i spout rubbish , this post has to be the biggest load of tosh on the venting board.

As a Scot living south of the border I don't buy food based solely on where it's manufactured/sourced. I buy it mainly based on value for money, taste, longevity ... all valid consumer reasons. It'd only come down to nationality if each product were very similar ... and when it comes to butter I invariably pick Anchor ... simply because New Zealand (and Australia) got screwed over by Britains membership of the Common Market in the 1970's. And my Ma still doesn't buy French apples because of the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior ...

Zappster - when the sinking of the rainbow warrior happened, all things French were banned from our house - no longer did we eat French Sticks but we had 'long rolls', French Mayo was gone for good, French Apples never got a look in anyway, Yoplait was bypassed in the supermarket and so it went in lol......Your Ma sounds like a right stalwart - :T :T'Normal' is a dryer setting.0 -
Its Ironic I buy Anchor Butter, but didnt even know it has links to New Zealand, its because I like its creamy taste, I buy Golden Delicious, because theyre delicious, and I cant stand the French. I dont buy food solely because its got a frilly label, or because its made in a particular place on the world. Heck if I wanted everything I purchased to be made in England, ill be seriously limited, from coffee, tea, bananas, to cars, computers and branded clothing. None of which are made in England....in fact the few items that were made in England, have been sold off. Even my water, gas and Electric arent English anymore.
Who cares where they are made, so long as they serve the purpose?:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
