Tesco's Are Air Brushing Out ENGLAND

I am patriotic too. Not a BNP lover, just patriotic. I'm proud of our history, what we've accomplished etc etc.
I love England and whilst being part of it is really hard sometimes, I don't care for the fact that stores, the government find it so easy to decide to scrub out our nationality and mingle it with other peoples. I really don't want to cause a fuss, but I think I'm entitled to say I'm proud of where I originate from, but I would embrace someone of any creed - so racism isn't a factor.
I would like England to be recognised and accepted separately and not be forced to be a part of something which the other countries involved seem to have immunity over. Scotland, Wales and Ireland are all internationally accepted as being separate, but we have to be a part of them even though it isn't reciprocated?
End of ramble!

I think the problem lies in that as yet the English have not been fully stripped of their identity, as a result you get the blaze attitude you have witnessed here. Being a Welshman I am fully aware of the implications that such a seemingly insignificant action such the policy being proposed {if all as is stated in your op} could and will most likely have.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

So whats the problem if you buy from English outlets when you can? You said you don't go to Tesco.
Why can't others choose? By posting your original post and admitting it technically doesn't effect you (eg where you choose to shop) it is like your telling others what they can/can't do, should think etc. The original post did not come across as a debate, it was more of an "it shouldn't be this way" post/statement.0 -

The actions of tesco in eradicating the name of my country is the problem for me, the original post was hopefully on my part to open debate up and hear peoples opinions as to whether they agreed or not, not the stupid oneliners it got. people have a choice as to where they shop and I respect that, this is a consumers vent board and that is what I did,
this thread gives the impression you are only allowed to speak your mind with permission from the oneliners.
If my original post did not make it clear my intent then that was my mistake I hope it has now been clarified, Britain is four nations not three and I do not believe that where we choose to shop should be used to stealthily remove one of the four. even more so when the bulk of their empire has been built in England.
I am now off to live some of the life I have. do hope I have now made myself clear, and Thanks for your input..0 -

But they haven't said they plan to do that across the whole store, it's just certain brands of butter being rebranded.Sile_Mairin wrote: »Britain is four nations not three
The problem really is if you think the identity on England depends on Tesco's butter.0 -
:TOP, why have you pretended that this was your conversation with Tesco when, as Backbiter has suggested, you copied it from a website blog?
haha, pwned:rotfl:nothing to see here, move along...0 -
does it really matter if Tesco's or any other major company are reducing and removing 'Englnd & English'? Were all going to end up ender the EU flag and wont be English British or anything other than European.... why fight it..?Life is like a box of chocolates........

but the food is just being classed as British, to which England is a part of and one of the founding members of. I don't see how this is a problem as the majority of people in England class themselves as British and I certainly don't see how anyone could be concerned that it's airbrushing England out, except if you're a devoted English Nationalist or something.Sile_Mairin wrote: »Now many of you may wish to belong to the new E.S.S.R I do not, this is why I will do my damndest to keep the name of my country along with my nationality. the EU want England regionalised so as to assimilate it into the super power Europe.
Are you sure about that? The EU want the UK removed, their not necessarily concerned with regionalising England. I think your devotion to the English nation is actually helping out the super power Europe by removing the British identity which is part of the United Kingdom.Sile_Mairin wrote: »Scotland, Wales NI are regions England is divided into six regions, like the stealth taxes gradually it is being eroded by action that Tesco's and others are taking,
Can you explain a little more how you think Tesco's decision to call produce sold in England as British produce is eroding the English identity?Sile_Mairin wrote: »Any questions? inane posts will now be ignored, and as for my name well done yes it is celtic.

I am proud to be British, as much as I am proud to be English. Simply rebranding some food products in a supermarket is in no way making me any less proud of my heritage.
I could argue how I find it offensive that I am not allowed to fly the flag on St Georges day in case it offends other nationalities, yet can watch whole parades for St Patrick's Day. I could argue that I can no longer show Merry Christmas in case its offensive to others and have to re brand it "Seasons Greetings". All pretty debatable topics. But a Supermarket renaming English to British???? Oh come now, what about King Edwards, British Beef, English Cheddar or a Full English Breakfast, do you really think renaming them would make the slightest difference to national pride?:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I have stated that what I posted was in an email sent to me by a friend I asked permission to post it on here and they agreed I was totally unaware that it was also on a blog., it is quite frankly immaterial to me whether you believe me or not, and as I am not a puter geek have no idea what your letters mean so what I presume you saw as something frightfully funny, has been lost on me .
Pretani.[Celt or Pict?] I do object to a company who rebrand something as they have done, for instance they can import something from another country and as long as it is packaged in Britain it can display the union flag. so if anyone wishes to support UK farmers as I do then the only true defining way they have in establishing that it is a UK produce is by either the name or flag of which nation or combinations of UK nations. I do not find this an excessive request to make, You can buy golden delicious apples with the union flag on and they could have been grown outside of these islands but packaged here, its a personal choice I prefer to know that I am supporting the farmers of the UK..
uktim29.. I have explained enough times but will respond to you, it is something called principle . read my answer to Pretani that may just clarify it for you.
Ben500 and petrafyde, Thank you at least you have understood what I was getting at.0
