no where in your orginal post do you say that!!!!!! you posted as if you had had the communication with Tesco. You mislead people and got a reaction....hope you feel better'Normal' is a dryer setting.0 -
I always say that I am English rather than British, but a lot of the time I don't feel confident doing so because the PC brigade have made being English into being racist.
To expand the debate a little:
Its no wonder people vote BNP, whatever else they are, they are the only political party with any national pride. I have never voted for them but can kind of understand when people do.
Councils banning people flying the cross of St George, banning celebration of Christmas, where does it all end?0 -
I get easily confused you see.
The Gaelic "sile mairin". Is that Beloved Sheila or Bitter Sheila, or a cryptic beloved Isle. Worried about the loss of English identity? A Gael would like a strong English nation to push forward the possibility of a break up of the Union. Did you get given the user name as well as the content? >>>>>
I have always been interested in the original inhabitants of these islands even the little history of the land mass before rising water levels seperated us, thats how I picked my name as it is my name, I prefer the Beloved Sheila/beloved Isle
Pick a different user name and pop back on to chat about money saving and I'll rush over to give you a hug. Frog marching might be the first thought on your mind but we don't do that round here.>>>>>
Problem can't figure out how to change name so will have to stick with this one for now , but will accept the challenge as long as I get the hug:T try shopping at Asdas I reckon my saving is between £10 to £15 a week compared to Tescos, even the petrol is cheaper less than a £ at Asdas today, compared to tesco at £1.05p.
And to Kiwifruitloop I suggest you read the WHOLE post where I categorically state it was recieved by me from a friend.
Am now off to the cotswolds for the week-end so feel the fat has been chewed long enough I have made my point. answered those I felt warranted a response, when I get home I will attempt to change my name. if I can't so be it . bye for now0 -
Its all in your head and a few tabloids no council in the uk have ever banned xmas, the flying of the george cross has never been banned.I always say that I am English rather than British, but a lot of the time I don't feel confident doing so because the PC brigade have made being English into being racist.

Here, because it NEVER STARTED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
You can still fly the St George's flag - in fact, many, many people do - and celebrate Christmas. Nobody's stopping you. Seriously, try it, and watch as the Muslim Anti-British Order Squad miraculously don't break down your door and beat you silly for being khuffar. :rolleyes:THE_LONE_RANGER wrote: »Its all in your head and a few tabloids no council in the uk have ever banned xmas, the flying of the george cross has never been banned.
However, hell did just freeze over because for once I agree with you.0 -

I think you'll find it's the likes of people like our very own stamford that have courted that labelFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Is their English butter English? If so, it should be labelled English butter. I would not buy a butter labelled as British as I would presume this to be as provenance-free as British meat. I don't particularly care whether it is from Scotland, New Zealand, Denmark or England but I would like to know which. And if it is labelled British then that means it is not British to most consumers.
And as to Christmas, you try to find one single advent calendar amongst the aisles and aisles of chocolate calendars. I'll be very surprised if you find one.0 -
Utter garbage. Dangerous, depressing garbage. The BNP are a nasty, racist bunch who are not worthy of any decent person's support. Whatever support comes their way is fuelled by the deliberately inflammatory, distorted and false press reporting that puts it about that Christmas has been banned.
Its no wonder people vote BNP, whatever else they are, they are the only political party with any national pride. I have never voted for them but can kind of understand when people do.

Ok, so maybe flying the george cross was not banned for everyone, but individuals have been told not to display it in case it offends people, the same for celebrating christmas, people have been told not to celebrate it in offices / schools because it would offend other religions.
We are supposed to be a DIVERSE country and that means everyone living to their way of life and respecting that other people do the same.0 -
"Lancashire garbage collector Matthew Carter, who was born in Barbados and is black, has been forbidden from wearing a St George's Cross bandana to hold back his dreadlocks because the symbol "could be considered offensive and racist."
or
"Prison officers who wore a St George's Cross tie-pin have been ticked off by the jails watchdog.
The English national flag could be "misinterpreted" as a racist symbol, Chief Inspector of Prisons Anne Owers said in a report on Wakefield prison.
The pins had been bought by officers at the top security jail to support a cancer charity.
A section on race relations in Ms Owers' report said: "We were concerned to see a number of staff wearing a flag of St George tie pin.
"While we were told that these had been bought in support of a cancer charity there was clear scope for misinterpretation, and Prison Service Orders made clear that unauthorised badges and pins should not be worn."
As one of her formal recommendations Ms Owers said: "Staff should not wear unauthorised tie pins."
I suppose that the people who wrote the above made it up did they?
People banning people from displaying this flag play into the hands of the BNP by letting them have it as their identifying symbol. It creates resentment but I have trouble understanding how anyone could be offended by the flag of a country...0
