God knows what the woman at Tesco thought about it!0 -
Im scottish, and i do feel for the OP. England has been getting a hard time of late, what with devolution and the like. What would happen if food labeled Indian or Pakistani was labeled simply Asian? Do you think it would be ignored then? Please feel free to find racist undertones in that last comment, as im sure that there are people on here who will jump all over it!!!0

I agree with Sile mairin, every one else seems to be (purposely?) missing the point.0

Tbh you should be buying produce from local suppliers and not from supermarkets anyway0
-
OP, why have you pretended that this was your conversation with Tesco when, as Backbiter has suggested, you copied it from a website blog?0

Ah reminds me of the closet Jock we saw in Amsterdam a few years back at breakfast. Whinging and moping about the lack of 'Scottish' newspapers, Daily Record?, he moaned about the food and service, chuntering like a good one.
Mes and Lady Freda got up, thanked the staff and walked out after our breakfast and the look on his face as he realised we had understood everything he said.
A couple of hours later and a little more solemn in the Reyks Museum, he apologised for his behaviourI find it shocking that the swear filter on the website that the original rant was pasted from won't even allow the word identity to pass uncensored. It probably can't even cope with Saturday.
S!!!!horpe and Callahan used to catch em out as well. Oh No, I meant SC-U-NThorpe. Oh do not get me started, no I have gone0 -

No, think you're dreaming a bit there.
If English/England matters to you why are you going to Tesco? Why aren't you going to an English farm shop based in England so you know the money you've spent in going to an English person!!!0 -

That'll explain the original rubbish formatting, all the html got copied as well.0 -
Being as there is only the OP and the blog it was coped and pasted from (unattributed I might add), is there actually any evidence that this is indeed the case? I would be very surprised if Tesco were engaging in this kind of discussion with customers, (although even if they are, I can't see the big deal myself!), but I agree that this is not something I would even think about let alone work myself up into a head of steam as the OP seems to haev done.
OP - even if you think we are all missing the point, doesn't that suggest that maybe you are in a minority and should consider that your point of view may not be representative of the bulk of Tesco customers?0 -
Perhaps the original poster is just trying to cause an argument.0
