Dear Martin,
Your name is Martin is it not... its about time you stopped winding TP reps up isn't it.
Your time is up you've been rumbled... but no doubt you will not put this up on the screen either as you failed to display my previous mail when I said there was a 'plant' on the site

Even more interesting........
In his latest 'cryptic' post, 'guest' Alan John Howes (who has previously posted a link to his website which describes him as a Senior Exec at Telecom+), has now used the identical e-mail address of the other "guest" who posted above under the name of ajhnumerouno@hotmail.com!0 -

Just read this thread for the first (and last) time. I must say I didn't find any of it interesting....Titch0 -

Well done Smartass for spotting that ;D You don't have to be stupid to be TP's Senior Exec but it obviously helps :PRememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

I am new to all this - not being a distributor or sales person for anybody. I'm even new to Money Saving Expert. However, buying some very expensive gas and electric it would be nice to sort the matter out. Who knows, if TelecomPlus prove to be a good bet, one might consider having a punt at being a distributor.
Declaration over. Now - first things first.
Martin says:Therefore providing they are honest and upfront i have no problem with them or them posting on the site. I suggest people who want to check out TP G&E supply use https://www.energylinx.co.uk. If it turns out to be cheapest, great - and then if you want to go to a TP distributor, as it doesn't cost you anymore - you may as well give them the commission.

I had rather hoped, egged on by TelecomPlus suggestions that there may be upto 150 pounds savings to be had. Hmmn, well not in this household. The best figure for TelecomPlus would appear to be £78.98 which isn't to bad at all. It suggests that Brigtish Gas dual fuel isn't wildly competitive. However, if TelecomPlus are the cheapest I would expect to see them at the top of the table.
Of course, this information is just a snap shot from the Energylinx site. I've ignored the "Incentives" column for now also. Plus customer service counts for a lot. TelecomPlus would seem to get a "Service Rating" of " 73%", whatever that means.
Ok, Utilita are talking about a 3 year contract, so that muddies the water slightly.
The government have started a initiative recently, advising people to save themselves some money on utilities.
So I suppose that the days of utilities from British Gas are looking numbered in this household.
But is TelecomPlus jumping out of the table shouting "me me me" ??
And should everybody be getting evangelical about TelecomPlus??
Probably no and no. Interesting question though.[ Eat, Drink and be Merry - for tomorrow we get the bill ]0 -
I don't quite understand the last few messages but would confirm my own thoughts on Tplus. They are almost certainly not the UK's cheapest supplier of Gas and electricity at any level of use in any area.
To determine who is cheapest you must look at every supplier and calculate the standing charges, kw/hr rates, membership fees. annual discounts, rebates, dual use etc. Only then do you get a true picture. My own elaborate calculations show that Tplus never get better than about 4th-5th place. The website comparison sites are useless as they place in first position those companies who offer the best introduction rates.
Charles Wigoder, chief executive of Tplus recently wrote to me stating "the internet comparison sites need to be taken with a generous dose of salt. They make their living through commissions paid by the companies they recommend, and the comparisons are often neither accurate or impartial".
He also stated that they claim to be the UK's cheapest domestic gas and electricity supplier based on 3 consumption levels of low, medium and high. I live in a 3 bedroom bungalow, highly insulated with a gas condensing boiler but he surprisingly puts my usage at double that of a high user?
He did accept however at the time of my writing that Powergen Online were cheaper than Telecom Plus.
Now that Powergen have again put up their prices, calculating usage rates for his definition of low, medium and high usage, Atlantic Gas and Electricity come out on top for medium and high usage but Powergen Online remain in first position for low usage. Take everything that anyone from Telecom plus says, with a pinch of salt. If they were mathematically educated and honest, they would not sell this product to an unknowing consumer.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I have just today received my post which includes a letter from the Advertising Standard Authority. I am being told by them that T+ have agreed to withdraw the statement that they are the cheapest suppliers of gas and electricity and will be destroying shortly all marketing material containing the above phrases. Hope this will now mean that anyone declaring to be the cheapest is "taken with a pinch of salt".Mark Hughes' blue and white army0

Well Alan, it is a pity. They could be quite a reasonable supplier, but when they appear to be stretching credibility, it may put people off a bit.
Also it is a pity that theywill be destroying shortly all marketing material containing the above phrases.
I heard wispers that some of the materials were funded by reps. I don't know how true that it. If so it might mean that reps would be carrying the can for someone else's actions.
But I suppose that is a different matter, so I shouldn't go there .... :-X[ Eat, Drink and be Merry - for tomorrow we get the bill ]0
