Should Rebecca come clean about David's baguette?

Definitely give it back - it's tantamount to stealing otherwise. If David has any sense he will at least fund the paper purchase and Rebecca's lunch too - or tell her to keep the change from the £25 anyway. Good boss/bad boss doesn't come into it - it's personal morality that counts. If the boss is so bad that you're tempted to rip him off then you should be looking for a new boss.0

how can it be theft, and theft from who??
Now if it was some random secretary, then maybe you'd have a point...Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Give the boss his change and tell him about the promotion. As a PA collecting lunch, dry cleaning, or anything else your boss asks you to collect is part of your job. Saving him money will always be looked upon favourably at pay review time.
not if he's anything like my boss, a selfish, arrogant b+++++++ who demands more and more work on the same wage, refusing to replace staff that have left, so we have to cope with more workload. If it wasnt for the credit crunch and the state of the economy, i'd have left ages ago. I have to put up and shut up, so as Mr T says "every little helps".0 -
She should keep any profits; as it's her shoe leather that's being used to buy that lazy person's lunch every day! Go girl!0

Come clean - the ball's then in his court and you have a clear conscience. Chances are, if he has any decency, he'll say to keep the change anyway.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Yes, yes, yes. Although she might ask herself why she has to get his lunch for him - isn't he a grown up?:rolleyes:0

I can't believe someone can justify £25 a week on sandwiches and fizzy cr4p! I'd suggest I make him some great healthy home-made soups, or filled wholemeal bread rolls and fruit, and bring it in with my own each day, for half that money. But then I'm lucky cos I dont have children to worry about!
(biggest money-saving tip EVER - no kids!)
But if I must answer the question - send an office-wide email that the offer is on and ask if anyone would be interested in donating the accumulated savings to a local charity - make it a team-building effort!0 -
yes i would suggest you tell your boss , i mean he may thank you and give you the difference

It's a no brainer - tell him about the offer & give back the change; doesn't matter if he's an !!!!!hole or not, PA's conscience is clean and the brownie points are always useful come appraisal/payrise time.0
