Should Rebecca come clean about David's baguette?

Of course she should give the money back. Would it be worth her losing her position of trust for a bit of lunch money? If she can't be trusted with this then she's not much of a p.a. Also her boss would hopefully think better of her if she said she'd saved him a few pounds even if he didn't need it.0

Bad boss - I'd buy his usual at the usual price but then buy another using the deal for myself, with my own pound.
liking your style, taffy!:money:Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

What is the point of this question unless it is giving a hint that the answer should be anything but : "Do not cheat your employer by stealing from him" ?0

I'd give him the paper, the sandwich, the coffee and his change...
it's a great way to remind your boss you're honest and can see an opportunity to cut costs for no lesser service...not a bad thing when it's promotion or bonus time, is it?;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Do we suspect then that Martin gets his staff to get his lunch for him? :money::D0

tell her boss about the saving she can make him and suggest a 50/50 split on the cash difference. It would show ingenuity and integrity and if her boss didn't want to share she can suggest she continues to get his lunch from the usual place and saves her time instead of his money. This scenario should be a win win for everyone (cash-wise and emotionally).0

Why bother tell him? Rebecca will be the only the only person who knows she is stealing, and she only has to live with herself, and look at herself everyday in the mirror, seeing a dishonest person looking back.
Even when you think something is incognito there's always a chance of being caught out, eg by a sliip of the tongue.
Give the money back-its all his money at the end of the day.0 -
Just my old-fashioned point of view...
She's a PA, getting the bosses lunches is often part of what they do. It really all depends how much she values her job. Whether he's a good boss/bad boss isn't really the issue, if she has respect for herself and loyalty to the company who pays her wages she'd use the voucher and give him the change, if not what is she doing in that job anyway?0 -
Give the money back!! It is pure theft otherwise, and if she got found out, she could be sacked for something like gross misconduct.0

Agree, use the voucher, give him the change. Agree with the above, it is often part of a PA's job to fetch the boss a sandwich. That is what the job is all about - doing the day to day stuff so they can get on with things.
Those who think it's cheeky to ask, well, you can always use these things to your advantage. I used to do the majority of my shopping when I was out gophering for the bosses for whatever it was they were after (dry cleaning, filling the car up with petrol, buying flowers etc.). So I ended up frequently being able to do stuff in the working day that I would normally have to do after hours..............0
