Happy birthday Toots! I hope you are having a good one?
Not sure if I should post this or not but when I first found the Flylady stuff on here I was working part time and looking after a baby and a toddler in a very messy pokey dirty terrace full of clutter. I spent a lot of time and energy resenting DH and getting angry with how little he helps me. I found the flylady site rather nauseating but the ideas were sound, and one of those was to stop wasting negative energy on the things you can't change, and to use the same energy postively. I now accept that no matter how much I nag, whinge or negotiate my DH will never pull his weight on the child care or household front. He does on the other hand do an excellent job of hunter/gatherer/protector roles and is very good at plastering/building stuff that I simply can't do. I do sometimes resent him but I try not to because at the end of the day it doesn't matter enough for us to split up and what is the point of making myself miserable? It is the same with hating work - you either change your attitude to it (work is boring is a self fulfilling phrophecy!) or you change your job. I don't mean this to upset anyone or to be seen as a criticism of anyone, it is just how I cope with my situation. Oddly enough he now says he feels excluded from a lot of what I do!!! Big hugs for those suffering, believe me I do sympathise.
Anyway, I have been at work yesterday and most of today so very little has been done. Just going to have a quick whip round the mess in the kitchen before I go and collect the boys.
On my return I must:
Empty the bins
S&S bathroom
Clear the exploded nappy and change DS2's bedding (again - must have a bad batch of nappies)
hoover
put the sorted washing away
and drink far too many cups of tea and finish the cadburys chocolate fingers before the children spot them.......'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Hex.. I've lived like that in 2 houses.. the first was a 2-up-2-down terrace and we had 3 children.. the 4th was born 5 days after we moved out. The last house we had was 3 bedrooms and we were there 8 years and moved when Tiddles was 8 months old. Both houses were cluttered to the point we were unable to walk on the floor sometimes.. and at times.. especially when hubby was waffling about dropping out of uni I loathed him.. but you do make do and get through and deal with it.. there is more to life I reckon.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Hi
Today i have
Done half the washing up
Toddlers
Picked up starter motor:j and broke down again:rolleyes: .
The migrane is still niggling so i've taken more tablets and am starting to feel more human.
Yesterday was a right off i felt really rough, i am going to find my list and get cracking and make sure today's not so bad.
I don't know what i'm going to do for tea as i still haven't made it to Tesco and there's hardly any food in. Hmm i shall think of something.
OH got called to the school earlier. He got there and the teacher said i've called you in as i'm concerned you're not treating your daughters diabeties properly . She's anemic but not diabetic but had told the school she was and that her Dad hadn't been giving her the medication. It's really bizarre. She's 15 so it's not as though she could have got them mixed up. He's not very happy to be called in for nothing. I think she was trying to get away with going home but it backfired.
