emily - you may be able to get sample pots for your pipes or try on freecycle for paint. Oven cleaner springs to mind otherwise?.

Could you put a wanted ad on freecycle for a bit of paint to cover it up with.

When our pipes got manky like that I used... *drumroll* ... a scrubby sponge and washing up liquid.. dried it thoroughly then glossed it.

Aaaah this is ridiculous, for some reason I seem to have totally fallen off the wagon and cannot get myself going at all. The past week or so I have felt things slipping away from me.

I see everyone else's posts and how much they have all done and wonder where they find the time to do it all..seeing as I can't even get myself going to do anything. I have a feeling if I did everything I needed to do every day I wouldn't have any time for anything else..

I am drowning in my own sorrow here, still in my nightie, and have done nothing except 3 hours of cross stitch, watch carp t.v. and browse MSE all morning. I only got up cos a friend rang me at 9.30 and I was thirsty then, so got up for a cuppa and stayed downstairs. I didn't put the computer on till gone midday though..

Where do I start...? Wonder if I am feeling carp because the living room is being decorated and my kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it and I don;t want to tidy it up as I know in a couple of weeks it will be all ripped out and replaced.. Still that doesn't answer why I don't want to tidy upstairs..hmmmm

Off to make another cup of tea..

toottifrootti...hello! I was a whizz with flylady in my last house as it was smaller, after 5 years being here and an extra baby later I still haven't managed to get a hold on it! Although the house is still being renovated very slowly as we ran out of money.

Oooh Gryfon are you the same Gryfon that was on UK Flylady not so long ago..? Think you might have even been on APGFlylady too..

Gryfon - ditto re renovations. We have run out of funds now, and the mortgage goes up £500 a month shortly so we are just going to have to live with it as it is for a bit. I am doing an interior design course (because it was free!) and I sit and admire pretty pictures of lovely houses and get very depressed some times. Ours is lovely from the outside, but is mostly a wreck on the inside even when it is tidy.

Hex, don't let it get you down, I did/do the same as you, I did a design course when we were so skint and it was like a lifeline to me, things that we could have if I just hung in there (well, some of it anyway... :) )

I'm still pretty skint, no spare cash unless it comes in a windfall, and now I decorate showhomes and stage homes when they are selling so it's like someones rubbing my face in it all over again - but I still believe that I can get what I want eventually... why don't you take your own advice and ask on Freecycle? I've been replacing bits for ages from there (and putting back stuff I don't want). I've just got a great table and chairs that I want to renovate and it keeps me going. Also, coz we don't want to stay here, I don't want to make it too nice so that we settle... catch 22 eh!

Good luck with the course, you'll love it...

Ha ha, me too, P*ss the neighbours right off, often telling me 'we heard you singing again' my usual reply is, well I'll charge you for a concert next time :) they don't usually bring it up again...

Mind, we usually p*ss the neighbours off anyway, when we first moved in, hubby went for one of their 'young men' when he threw a ball in my DDs face and nearly broke her nose - I think it worried them when they called the police to scare us, but when they came round and hubby told them that he would do the same if not worse if they did it again... and after the police telling hubby that he couldn't do things like that, even if they did deserve it, and hubby still saying he would, they went and told the neighbours and we've never had any trouble since (could also be that he looks like Phil Mitchell too!)
