  • Afternoon guys and dolls,

Hope everyone is well and welcome to any newbies. Have done lots of laundry and a bit of de-cluttering so far today. My aims for the rest of the day are shopping, laundry, empty bins and de-clutter flat. Have a good afternoon everyone!

  • Oh drat. I washed a roman blind on Wednesday and the wood has stained the fabric. I washed it again yesterday and the stain washed off. But today there is a new wood stain on it. Any suggestions.
    My thoughts are ...
drive to Dunhelm...buy a new blind.

Is the wood at the top? dry it upside down...or can you take the wood out before washing?

Yes the wood is at the top. The first time I washed it, I pegged it with the wood at the top and got a huge stain. So yesterday I only washed it as far as the stain and pegged it upside down, but it still got a stain at the top.
It's a calico blind, so I'm wondering if a bit of bleach might remove the stain from the wood without spoiling the blind.
But I'm getting a bit sick of messing with it.
I can't remove the wood without a load of faffing about. The cords are all attached to the wood.

Good luck with the application then...hope you've done it in green or red ink so it stands out from the crowd (not!). What's the job?

  • hello all you lovely flyers!!!!
supergirl - I would be lost with out my internet too - I know just how you felt and I missed you. Nice to see you on here getting organised today - love the sound of the meat-box - I dont like supermarket meat either - we have a farmers market but I can never make up my mind if its very dear or not - i really cant afford too much extra.
G&B enjoy the wedding and celebrate your success at the same time you clever girl!!!
flower hope you are not too sore today - please take it easy and give your body time to heal!!
puss14 well done you - what a great start to your flying- it gets easier every time you do it just you wait and see.
lil_me I wish you were nearer me and then I would get you to sit down with me and help me work out my debts - what a lovely lady you are for helping your friend - she must be feeling so much happier.
valli glad you enjoyed evita - I havent been to a musical either but that is one I would consider. and awh shucks honey you made me blush!!!
SONHM sorry for using the initials - we tend to shorten names here but I couldnt call you 'sicko' now could I!!!!!!!!!!! welcome to the thread and I am sure you will love it - we are all totally round the bend (not the Ubend) but the support is fantastic - my fav syaing is that your house dint get in a mess overnight so it wont get sorted overnight - it all takes tome - baby steps to begin with - dont go mad at the beginning. welcome to what we lovingly call the madhouse!!!!

I had a stressful morning but now its past and I can relax until Monday - i was sitting my database module exam today and wasnt at all confident or happy about it so will just have to wait and see!
Then i did my errands and treated myself to a couple of bits in the laura Ashley sale - for the house not me - just pretty little things - really liked a throw but it was still £65 in the sale!!! But I did get a fab bargain in the wallpaper - 3 rolls (for one wall) for £1.50 each - (was £25 a roll!!!!!!) and have seen the paper I want for the LR so will have to ebay something this weekend for it.

Now I have to say I wont be doing normal flying for a few days - no panic - nothing wrong!!! I have to clear my bedroom out as I placed a wanted thingy on freecycle for bits of carpet or rugs and someone has given me a carpet - dont get too excited as I am not sure if its that great - anyway the only way I can deal with it is too clear the bedroom and use it for there - its the wrong colour for LR - its lying in the hall and its too heavy for me to take it outside to check it so I am just going to have too clear the BR in the hope that I can use it there - it looks as if it needs a clean so will I be ok with the oold stardrops and what ratio?
It will be good if it works as my bedroom has no carpet and is so cold in the winter that whatever ig et will be a help.
will be sort of flying/ de-cluttering as I go along and ebverything will get cleaned polished before going back - I think it may take me the best part of a week to complete and I am exhasuted just thinking about it!!!!
Where are the strong men when I need one:eek:

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
Live each day as if its your last
