  • Toots you're so lovely! And accurate! No failure on this thread! (Good job given my list this week)

What a shame you feel that way... I bet if you asked you'd get loads of advice at the market! esp if you said that you feel daft for not knowing! Or you could always google for info? When you get a minute in between rearranging your entire house, re-covering every folder you own, and ebaying all your possessions :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Hehe - thanks toots!

I'm already winning. The sheets are out of the washing machine and my diary is nicely up to date. And I've tidied away after my housemate and have the flat to myself for three whole days!!!

I play cello in the Cardiff Philharmonic and we're playing (amongst other things) the Elgar Cello Concerto and the VW London Symphony in West Wales tomorrow (I have learned this from updating my diary!). Much fun. And keeps me off the streets. Suspect I may get a bad mark for getting this close to the concert having attended quite so few rehearsals...

Have just got in after going out this morning to see mum.

Went to DDs for a cuppa then she decided to come up the street with me.

When I go shopping usually its just the ones I need to go to. With DD its most of the shops `just for a look she says`

Went to post office and still no second parcel so a trip to the sorting office tomorrow. We went to Wilkos and got some shopping in there but when Ive got home they have overcharged me. An item was 2 for 2 pound but they have charged me full price. So back there tomorrow too.

    Still to do.

    bathroom
    put clean washing away.
    Sort work bag for tonight.

Think I will nip back to Wilkos now its only 5 minutes away.

pigpen Poor kitty but Ive done that with Jake before and nearly fallen over.

    SHNM Welcome.

nicki Good luck with the job application.

Toots Your wallpaper was a good bargain. Hope you manage to get your carpet sorted.

well done - you see - all these little tasks help.

I have to say that I really like the Elgar cello Concerto- I admit I dont understand much about classical music but there are some pieces I adore and that is one of them having heard it live once - i was enthralled by it.

I hope you have a good rehearsal and get your wrists slapped....!!!!! and have a brilliant performance tomorrow - get the best bib and tucker looked out ready to wear!!!!

Sarahshattered, with you on the meat but personal choice I use a local farm shop I trust. Have you been in touch with your local parentpartnership service? Even when things are good it's nice to have them for advice. If you get stuck in the near future just shout, I don't always have the answers but usually know someone/some support which will. The reply I used my current head which is with government policy and the chanes they have requested because we're using these within our local area to get services, hopefully. A lot of swotting up for me on the Every Child Matters, Every Disabled Child Matters, Aiming high for disabled children and other documents but it gives it some clout!
Cardiff have a good weekend, sounds like you needed that diary update, I must do mine on Monday
Valli, I use SMART to explain them to parents, it helps a lot, giving examples of each one aswell. I rewrote my sons for them every time after I found out what they should be like when he was at his previous school.
G&B and mozzy my partner regularly does long distance work, for example we live in Durham but if I wanted to go on holiday and fly from manchester I'd probably get a taxi as train tickets normal family card price would be more expensive and I'd need to switch round with 2 kids and bags.
G&B hope the wedding went ok
boddy hope you get the parcel thing sorted
    greenbee that's some size list!
Aww bless your poor little dog Polly, mine does that too, barks at me
toots, wasn't a friend, friend of a friends neighbour lol. With meat there is a lot of uides online for cuts, like http://www.recipetips.com/kitchen-tips/t--475/cuts-of-lamb.asp which has a lamb 'guide'on this bit http://www.recipetips.com/kitchen-tips/t-5-/meat.asp there is cuts of others aswell like beef
    SOHNM welcome
nicki we'll all be thinking of you on interview day!
AnW'sMum I hope you did the last thing I suggested before you left, remove all the loo roll from the staff toilets :D

Found what was wrong with Megan last night, conkers! She'd tried to eat them and got one stuck on one of her stumpy teeth, biscuit chewing got it off eventually so DP didn't get bitten when he came home.

DS1s harvest festival done, he did really well, DP went with me for the first time and had never seen him take part in anything before as he wouldn't join in when he was in a mainstream school, he looked very proud! Meeting went well today, basically a feedback meeting from the conference, more meeting dates indiary which at present looks like a maze!! Cauliflower soup we had for lunch however is repeating on me, bleurgh, it was nice when I ate it but not 3 hours later. I've got some stuff to take with me to be on with, going to pack up now to go up the caravan, swimming there tomorrow then back tomorrow evening as we're going to Flamingoland first thing Sunday morning. Actually will feed the kids now, then they can eat as I pack, might have something myself see if I can get this cauli soup to go down.
One day I might be more organised...........

part of my trouble too is of course that i dont know my cuts of meat - shocking isnt it - at my age - I have only really started cooking this last year and never bothered before so I always feel foolish at the markets!!!!!!
    what a wimp!!!!!
    toots xx

Ive just started the last year or two to get into cooking properly.Nothing fancy just wholesome home cooked stuff. Oten look at the recipes on this site and try them.
  • Thanks for the links lil_me I will check them out. sounds like you had a nice day and nice to have DP there too - maybe it will encourage him to go more often. I thought conkers were poisonous - is the dog ok?
And cauliflower soup is lovely but i stopped making it as it repeats on me too!

Oooo Flamingoland sounds nice - you lucky thing

    toots xx

Right managed to get my hair thined and washed + blowdry and everyone has said what a lovely colour (what colour i didn't get one) , kids all got haircuts and now dressed. manage to leave in all glasses and all have to be sent away to be fixed.

Suppose i should think about getting ready. If i'm not back i hope everyone has a lovely evening.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
