    just so you know - these targets SHOULD be

    specific (ie not woolly...but you're on the case there)
    measurable (ie how do you know he has 'got it')
    achievable (within DSs capability with support)
    realistic (ie not more than would be expected for a child of his age/ability)
    timed (a set date by which they should have been achieved)

    in other words targets should be SMART

    which is why I am STILL writing mine - think I'll copy this post as proof I know what I am doing:o
