it would be one thing less for you to worry about and you could concentrate on the assignments!!!!

a list of new and returning flyers weekly would be the simplest thing - we all tend to do an intro bit when we do our first post and then we get nosy and ask for all the other bits anyway!!!

    thats just my humble opinion!!!

    Evening all,

Managed my hill walk but am now very tired indeed - who said fresh air was good for you.

soappie - go with what others have said - if the shoe was on the other foot and you could help out would you want paid for it, sometimes a meal or a home made gift is appreciated more.

dusty - glad you got the shoes changed.

vanilla glad to see you and bump back

a&wmum - contact school tomorrow this is obviously been done to put the frighteners on the boy who committed this act but it will probably be all others who suffer.

lil_me - I dont know where you find all the time to help your friends in person and also all your online friends.

pigpen - I think you have enough on your plate at the moment without adding a list of contributors(sp?) I think we know who each other are and a list may be more time consuming to you than is actually worth it, just thinking back to when i joined flylady contributors have changed loads and as someone else mentioned when do you delete someone.

Now confession time, I havent managed much flying today and the kids finished up for the holidays today, not doing anything next week as the school i work in has had this week off so I go back to work on Monday.

Okay going to play some games on facebook and then its bed (OH in london tonight to i can play on pc rather than talk to him:D )

:jI've caught up with the thread!! I hate not knowing what has been happening!

Okay, :hello:hi to all the newbies!

    :hello:And all the returnees!

:hello:And wave to all the regular flyladies!

I haven't been flying today, but working very hard at school - totally shattered today, but home tomorrow, so will do the weekly shop, then the bathroom. I have also arranged with DS who is also home Fridays, that we will cook something every week. Preparation for being more independent! He does already cook a bit, but I think he needs to extend his repertoire. And it has just occurred to me that it's a good way of getting out of cooking once a week.:D

And does anyone know why I can't get all the lovely smilies to work for me???

AnWsMum, I'm stunned, I think I will reply with what I would do. This post will just contain my suggestions for a suitable response, I hope noone minds.

Firstly contact the head teacher, make sure what has been stated is correct and if it is not then request that he should clarify with the children immediately to remove concerns they have.

After it is confirmed I would ask how he thinks this new policy effects the outcomes aimed for the Every Child Matters Charter highlighting the following

    * Be healthy - removal of toilet tissue encourages unhealthy toilet behaviour
    * Stay safe - a child wandering round with his trousers round his ankles because there is no toilet roll and he didn't realise he needed to go is NOT SAFE
    * Enjoy and achieve - there is no enjoyment in causing toileting problems in children and increasing the time they need out of the classroom to collect/return toilet paper will have negative effects
    * Make a positive contribution - children can't contribute while wandering round finding toilet rolls. Forcing confessions in public can cause children to want to stop contributing in school.

Then of course in my letter/email the following

A child has the right to suitable sanitation facilities within their school, this was covered in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Removing their rights to appropriate sanitation facilities, including facilities to clean themselves WHEN NECESSARY causes me to be significantly concerned over adults undermining the rights of children and young people to their human right to suitable sanitation in school. Removing provision for any method of cleaning themselves, including paper, soap, water or drying facilities effects development of positive habits with regards to personal hygiene. The Health and Safety Executive would also disagree with removing suitable sanitation facilities.

I would then highlight who I would also be reporting this to (sorry I wouldn't let this go unheard by officials) I would contact the school governors initially asking for a reply to your complaint and what will be done to resolve this issue in writing then if I got nowhere probably contact the following in no specific order

    Health and Safety Executive
Director of Children's Services (in your local council)

Sorry if this seems a little harsh to some but I believe strongly that school discipline is lacking but some half hearted ban on bog roll isn't going to solve anything in a primary school. All this would do is cause further problems. It's disgusting when a Head Teacher takes away the human right to good sanitation for a child and I am sure that if their was no toilets available to use in school the school would have to close because of Health and Safety Regulations! (Ok I know this happens as I have had to collect my children from school because of that!)

I doubt I'd send my children to school until it was resolved if I was in the same situation.....but I am good at making noise when I disagree with something....

(I bet everyone thinks I might not be all nicey after all and I'm a right awkward cow lol)

mumofjusttwo I think there is only one company that make real hair wigs and they don't donate what they make to charity. In the USA there is a few, but I don't know if they take donations from abroad.
lauradora hope you have a lovely time!
soappie thanks for having one for me, hope you enjoyed it!
pigpen, holla if you need something doing, always said that, same goes if you need me to pop back in the flying seat.....

Well swimming been and gone, DPs possibly still in York at his meeting as he hasn't phoned me. Haven't done much in the house since I got home, have started the DW and WM is now on but not much else. I think I will watch Eastenders and do some flinging/sorting. Might sort through some of my research so far for the current project, it's all over the place on the main PC at the mo, can do that and watch TV if it's Eastenders..
