Lil-me - have just poured my second G&T - this ones for you by proxy!

I've just dug out the old scrabble sets and cobbled a complete set of pieces together which I'll take with me and the OSW (Official Scrabble Words) book - DD and I are going to go head to head with it on Saturday night. She's determined to beat me!

DiL's Dad is here fitting the new shower - bless him. I've managed to pass him some cash for the cost of it but he's refusing labour charges. Methinks a dinner party is coming on soon....

    Hi Guys

I have just got in from work and wanted your opinions on the following, especially interested in teachers view point and if any of you have dealt with this.

A boys toilet at primary school has been blocked up with toilet paper which has obviously flooded the clockroom. At assembly all the boys are asked who has done this with no one owning up. Headteacher says until someone owns up then there will be no more toilet roll in the toilets and boys must ask for it if they need it prior to going to the toilet.

Whilst it is not acceptable for toilets to be blocked like this do you think she is right in withholding toilet roll from all the boys (some 130 in the school aged 4 to 11) to punish them all, who should be responsible for issuing toilet roll, how many sheets should be allowed, what about those who decided they need roll after getting to the toilets etc etc plus the health implications.

Just need to organise dinner but will be back soon, thanks in advance for your views.

  • pigpen - I offered to delegate noone wanted it lol.

I posted this earlier pigpen - maybe you didnt see it
delegate it!!!! there are 2 flyladies itching to help you...........valli and greenbee!!!!!!!

it would be one thing less for you to worry about and you could concentrate on the assignments!!!!

a list of new and returning flyers weekly would be the simplest thing - we all tend to do an intro bit when we do our first post and then we get nosy and ask for all the other bits anyway!!!

    thats just my humble opinion!!!

It sounds like a very bad idea to whithhold toilet roll, I can see major problems, I am sure other suitable 'punishment' could be found.

    Tonight

    Cooked dinner
    Washed up
    Wiped all kitchen sides down
    Cleaned the hob
    Fed cats twice!!

I think that's dreadful AnW'sMum! My view is it's not right. And to ask all to own up at assembly is wrong to! No-one's going to 'fess up in front of the whole school. It would have been far better to ask the boy to come and see them afterwards.

    Blimey! I'm almost speechless!

when i was in a school placement, a few years ago, something similar to this happened and the deputy stopped all the boys going out at lunch time and were supervised in the hall by said teacher, i think it took 20 mins for the guilty party to own up!!!HTH

Thanks kazw and soappie that was my gut reaction as well. I have tried to double check the facts with Miss A and am going to ring another mum tonight before I go out. I sense a phone call to school in the morning. I would go in person but have to be at work, my mum might go and see them (just retired from school after 29 yrs there!) as she is due to drop A & W off tomorrow.

Would be very interested in other views.
