Having thought about this, I am even more appauled, the 'accidents' are likely to increase, and children wandering around looking for toilet paper, 'half way' through, if you get my meaning.............

Can you send your child with his own toilet paper, in a small bag?

Its a no no from a health & safety point of view, not to mention undermining discipline as a whole. No longer is just a guilty party punished but everyone - so not worth behaving as we'll be in trouble anyways? It could also cause more problems than it solves as anxiety about toilets and needing to go increases, as do accidents - its so totally over the top.

I'd email the head tonight, and call tomorrow - and maybe a governor as well?

Agreed, W does not always remember to use any paper, I sometimes have to remind him to wipe his bottom, if there is no paper then he won't be able to and worse still he and others may use their hands :eek: and we all know how well a child washes their hands at the best of times

Thanks for all your responses, I am about to go bellringing but would appreciate any other comments people add, I will read them before I go to bed later.

  • Just wanted to say thanks again for support over IEP. :T

Meeting was fine - we've agreed a way forward to the end of term, and school and I are doing extra things to help DS. Its measureable and achievable and not at all wooly.

Getting a professional view in November, and again school very receptive to working with us in this.

He is still an interesting puzzle to us all, but a cute and cuddly one! ;)

    thanks again

    I'm back yet again

    Even more horrified than before!!

I would also suggest a phone call to the local EHO (Enivronmental health officer) at your local Council, as I am sure removing toilet paper MUST be against some law or other!

If you don't want to make it, pm me, your local council name and the name of the school and I'll do it for you!

AnW'smum - I don't think it's right. My daughter is very quiet and would be mortified at having to go and ask for paper. Can you imagine the sniggering that would be going on every time someone went for loo roll.....a dreadful idea in my opinion xx
