Oh I send hugs to all in need, I pop in here regularly to check on you all and cry and celebrate appropriately with news, just usually tell you I do as I don't want to intrude!

Can I please ask a question to those of you now using some sort of help to TTC? I have been discussing with my OH about taking things further and getting some help.

I have been saving to pay for it (whatever 'it' is) and know my age is against us (both 38 this year) - we've had a few early MCs over the years and want our one and only paid-off chance to have as high odds as possible, but a sibling of mine had a very sad late MC a while ago to a chromosome trichotomy problem which makes me wonder whether to put ourselves through it at all!

Sorry to ask, but I really am in two minds what to do next, x

Go to your GP asap as, if you haven't already had IVF on NHS and neither of you have previous children, you would be entitled, provided you are under 40 before being referred. Some PCTs insist on you being more than 6 months away from your 40th birthday, so you might want to get a move on.

I would mention the issue with your sibling and your MCs to the fertility specialist - they may recommend you have chromosone tests done.

I'm so upset. I just had an email from my consultant to say that the 'remains' of my D&C were put in formaldehyde by mistake, so they can't do teh genetic testing on them that they were supposed to do. I am furious - I checked again adn again and again that the process was in place and well documented and they still !!!!ed it up. ANd now they want to know what to do with the remains, should they just dispose of them? Christ, how much more insult can you add to injury. Very angry. Have demanded that my consultant find out what happened and who is responsible.

So sorry, Sarah!!!! They can be so insensitive, can't they?

I hope you will get to the bottom of it and the person responsible will be disciplined. What can seem like a simple thing for them, is other people's feelings and sanity, why won't they offer at least a bit of sympathy?????

Sarah, that's awful How upsetting. Big hugs to you.

Phoned the clinc yesterday (or rather good ole DH did) to see if we needed to chase up an appointment for having my tube taken out and apparently they'd forgotten to forward the refferal on. this is quite maddening, as she wrote the referral from start to finish in front of us!

It seems that it'll be fine though, because (several phonecalls later) the surgeon has promised to personally see my notes on Friday and arrange an appointment for me. I don't know how long I'll have to wait - but I'm really glad we chased it up.

It really drives me mad when you can't trust people to do their jobs. You shouldn't have to check up on people all the time. And in Sarah's case even checking up didn't make it happen. It's just not on.

    Oh Sarah,
I am so sorry, words can't express how you must be feeling now it's so senseless. As Jiblets said we shouldn't have to keep on at people to do their jobs properly but it sadly seems to be the case so often these days. I don't get anywhere with my consultant until I've had about 20 phonecalls and end up losing my rag and you're going through enough already without having the extra stress of them not doing things to make it any easier.

Sorry that everyone is having a bad day - Sarah I am gutted for you. Even an apology isnt enough really, you had a chance to try and get some answers hugs XXXXXX

Well done to somnium and FE for holding their nerve on the 2WW. Not long now, and have fun in the field FE. I hope you find the distraction strong enough! And whats wrong with testing in a portaloo?? I dont know, the youth of today - where is your sense of adventure!

Mad mac, I second the poster above re getting your referral asap and speaking to the specialist before proceeding. I would suggest you get all the information you need before making any decision.

well done on the wimbledon win (I assume it was recent?) toniq - hope you have or will really enjoy it - you deserve some fun.

Jiblets, hope they sort you out on Friday it is sooooooo frustrating when they c*ck it up - and then act like its picking up the wrong tin of beans!

Hope everyone has a good week, thank god its nearly the weekend!

Hi Lilo, thanks - I will try to get myself sorted out sooner rather than later, but OH is so low at the moment I know it will be a struggle to get us there. How are you doing now?

Sarah, also wanted to say that I had to read and then read again your post. I cannot believe these !!!!-ups still occur so often (same happened my side of the family) and although they eventually got an admission of guilt and an apology, it didn't make it any easier to swallow. Absolutely disgusted for you and tears in my eyes. Hope you can get more sense out of them and find a way forward. Hug from me, x
