We will be expecting an update in your birth story SB!!

Got my first 'lone' MW appointment tomorrow - hubby has to go to work...seems silly because I kept telling him he doesn't have to be there for every one but now I feel like something will go wrong :o

Oh MFD -- you are too like me, except for me it's the hosptial appts becuase hubby has come to all scans, but only the first midwife appt. i have my 34 week scan/appt at the hosptial and was thinking because of hubby's working hours i will just go on my own, but what if they tell me i'm going to have a 10lb baby... i will freak
  • Thanks feely and AF -

it's a 9.15am appointment and I should be done pretty quickly (I have already had my bloods done).

If she tells me baby is back to back I may cry...although I have 12+ weeks to change that (I will be scrubbing everyones floors!!)

I think that it is just the change that is worrying me (and the fact that I normally have hubby to remind me what I want to ask her...and then to remember the answers too!!)

I am sure that both of your scans will be fine :D

DH has been to every appointment with me too, except one where he couldn't get parked quick enough and they were running on time for a change . But there are lots of Daddy's who can't be there for any so I think we should consider ourselves lucky :grouphug:. Everything WILL be just as it should tomorrow so tell those hormones to stop making you fret ;).

Birth Story - I edited mine quite a bit when I had Poppy as I didn't want to scare any of the soon-to-be-mummy's! It was a bit dramatic, with lots going on, but hopefully this one will be a walk in the park and I'll tell all! :p.

    xx
  • You could tell us your Poppy story now ;):D I'm not easily scared!!

I am still naive enough to think 'oh poor you - aren't I so lucky that I will be having a simple uncomplicated birth' :rotfl:

  • i don't want to waste my maternity leave at home with no baby, only taking 6 months off so the longer i can leave it the better. I'm not doing that much work tnh as they have taken me off active duty which is why i'm online so much, not out in a forest :(

    :D

that is why i dont like going on my own becuase i dont really speak up and wouldn't ask too many questions (but then saying that, hubby doesn't either - only when he wanted to know what flavour we were having).

see if i had someone with my at my last MWs appt they might have thought to ask how i can check if the ketones aren't in my wee anymore (or if they have gotten higher). never thought to ask until days later

i just think we all have our different ways etc (plus i dont want to call you odd - no only joking :D )

i sometimes think my situation is strange becuase i am not sure hubby is 'into' the baby thing, even though it was his suggestion. but he did say to me early on, he thinks it will hit him when i'm around 8 months. he's just not a worrier like me, and just goes with the flow
