Too funny! DH's main complaint with baby girls is that there's no "warning" (his words) when they're going to wee on you when you're changing them! :rotfl:

Okay triggles - as an experienced 'baby handler' you had better outline the warning signs for [STRIKE]me [/STRIKE]us all:confused:

Or you may just have a boy thats a moody cow too :p Chris is just like him mum, he can throw a strop at the drop of a hat, has daddy wrapped round his little finger and loves to wiggle his bum at even the slightest hint of a musical beat :A

i must say after i typed that i had to wonder if boys were moody. i only have a sister so i wasn't sure.

hubby will be pleased to hear this :D

    Hello :hello:

Hypnobirhting class last night was fab. Worked through some relaxation scripts - basically partner reads a script to you that helps you relax really deeply, and learned light touch massage techniques. basically, using the backs of your fingers you stroke the other person's back upwards and outwards on a kind of fountain pattern. The gentleness of the touch stimulates the nerve endings and stimulates the production of endorphins which are 200 times more powerful than morphine. Its essentially what a TENS machine replicates electronically...

Not so good today though - fell on black ice on way to work this morning. No damage to Bean, judging by the amount of kicking I'm getting but I do ache a bit:cool:

Looking forward to midwife appointment tomorrow. Hubbles is comig along cos he wants to hear the heartbeat even though I've told him there's nothing much else happens:D

triggles! chris knows how to use them but choses not to :rotfl:
one of the things I'm worried about is that I've never changed a girls nappy, I know its silly but I know what I'm doing with a boy coz got lots of practice! and how do you manage to put tights on a baby? thats beyond me!
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

More than happy to pass on the benefit of my good luck in having such a progressive thinking maternity unit. Apparently they do acupuncture as well as aromatherapy massage for free too! I thought the light touch massage was a good technique to pass on to save the cost of hiring a TENS machine too...

I will flick through the book tonight but if not I have been given a handout which I can scan into the computer and email to you if you want. It was so good. I was totally aware of what was happening around me but so completely relaxed I couldn't have been faffed moving even if the fire alarm had gone off :rotfl:

  • When mum had me they used to keep you in hospital for 4 or 5 nights!! THe midwives used to make her wake me up to feed me - mum argued but the nurses just used to wake me anyway...when mum brought me home she stopped waking me to feed me and I slept all the way through every night after that.

I was, of course, practically perfect in every way from that moment forward ;):D

Triggles and Sami - your boys sound like a hoot!!

DH is convinced that we are having a chubby cheeky chappie - despite my protestations about the chubby bit! From the kicking that I keep getting I reckon we are getting a absolute b00ger!!

McSmiler - when i was in America you could buy pee-pee tee-pees...which were like little widgie hats to stop the air getting to it and making him widdle :rotfl:
