aww bless x Krystal I have to ask (coz I'm nosey) is your new job to do with your b/f training?

Yes it completely is! I'm now an infant feeding peer supporter in my local hospital :D (something we started discussing 4 years ago, but the wheels turn very slowly... Also everything else I've always done in a voluntary capacity so am really fortunate that this is paid, it might be minimum and for very few hours but it is such a big step forward!)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

That sounds fantastic! I bet your feeling very proud of yourself, :T
I hope when you help the ladies they let the hosp know how much you helped afterwards, its one of the few things that my hosp need to work on as the midwives are mostly too busy to stay and help you for any length of time.

  • I think that is awful that they won't offer an alternative! If it was me I would be tempted to write to the local paper about it.

In my experience 'set' Christmas meals often suck if you're veggie. Everyone pays the same but the veggie alternative is often nowhere near as elaborate as the meat option.

  • pollyanna - thanks for giving us your birth story...although someone will have to now elaborate to me how they check how dilated you are (I have been wondering - images of rulers are popping into my head!!)
Glad to hear things are going well :D

That's what we're there for, women are failed if they don't get the support they need and sometimes midwives and healthcare assistants are too busy... It's early days in the grand scheme of things and the funding for our posts is not guaranteed at all... But the department of health and unicef are putting real emphasis on peer support at the minute so hopefully things will become a bit more permanent...

I'm still having problems getting into the forums. I tried a new tactic today. Went into the search function and tapped in "children" (first word I thought of) and it brought up this thread, but I can't get into any other forums. Don't know what's going on with my computer and I was hoping to have a good old catch up today as there's nothing on telly and the bubba's asleep.

They use their fingers, but if you think about it - which I did - when you are "doing" it with your partner, they don't feel your cervix, so think how far up the midwives have to go to feel it. It really wasn't a nice feeling. I was gripping bf's hand like nobody's business, but didn't have to do that when I was having contractions!
