Elle, All my morning sickness has been from the afternoon until bedtime and I had to give up on naps because I felt more sick when I woke up... Eating before a nap seemed to make it worse too... It is a lot lot better now than it was but still not completely over it...
Tine, I was well past 20 weeks, think something like 22 before I felt DD moving and even then it wasn't a regular thing... I can only really feel this one because I know how it feels... (and apparently because my muscles are slacker... lovely!)
I must be feeling really emotional today... we handed the shoe boxes in for operation chirstmas child this morning and the children carried them to the front while we sang 'we three kings' As soon as I saw DD carrying her box down the aisle I had big fat tears rolling down my face, just couldn't help it!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Carla: you should be able to get all the info here http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Expectingorbringingupchildren/index.htm?cids=Google_PPC&cre=Money
the healthy eating thing is only starting in april so no info on that yet.
I believe the surestart grant is only avail if you joint income in less than 16k but I'm not sure. also on the bottom of the link page look if you may be entitled to apply for free milk, fruit n veg and vitamins

carla, try not to worry about being drunk, this happened to me a couple of weeks before I found out I was pg with DD...
As far as the sure start grant goes, if you get child tax credits higher than the basic rate then you will be entitled... If your bf is not working then you will def be getting the higher rate for your 1st child...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... My first (and the next 2, come to that!) wasn't planned - and I left one job a couple of weeks after I'd have fallen pg and got massively drunk on my leaving do (cobination of wine, lager & tequila - nice - not!) - Dr said was ok - lots of people do the same before they know! A one off at v early stage is unlikely to have any probs (his words, not mine, before anyone says anything about medical advice;) )

Carla - loads of us got drunk before we realised (I know I did, even though we were trying...I was just convinced that it wouldn't be as easy to fall as it was) just know that you need to start looking after yourself from now on.
Just thought I would add - you will probably find that your doc isn't very interested...will just tell you to book an appointment with your Community Midwife (usually visits your surgery). In general, they don't even do a test - just take your word for it....they don't even touch you for the first 26 weeks or so - apart from for scans.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Cor blimey! It's been ages since I was on here and I've been completely eradicated from the List! I had my daughter 5 weeks and 6 days ago and have tried to get on here a couple of times, but my computer just wouldn't let me on here. Annoying or what.
She was born on 27th October, absolutely ages ago now, but everything is hunky dory. Not sure if anyone wants the gory details, but it actually wasn't that bad, and it's true what they say, you forget the pain! I was in painful labour from 9pm till 10am the next day when they rushed me for a emergency C-section, so I didn't get to experience the whole pushing bit.
I got to hospital at 2.45am in the morning when I couldn't bear them any more (just wanted some pain relief) when my contractions were about 3-4mins apart. Got diagnosed when I got there as being 4cm dilated (my goodness, the way they check that is more uncomfortable/painful than the labour pains) and my fore waters broke and baby had pooped inside of me, so I wasn't allowed to stay on the birthing suite, but had to go up to the delivery suite which was a shame.
Gas and air was good, but made me feel a bit sick and when I was checked 3 hours later, it turned out that I was only 1cm dilated and the first midwife had got it wrong. That flipped my head as it put me back a few hours if you see what I mean. They put me on a drip to speed up labour due to baby having pooped, but this freaked me out as the midwife kept saying, "You're not really in labour, it's going to get piles worse." Gee thanks!!!! So I asked for something stronger and that pethidine stuff is amazing!!! I was on cloud cuckoo land!
Anyways, due to them giving me the maximum dose of this drip thing, I had one almightly contraction that just would not stop and the baby's heartbeat started dropping and I was rushed in for the C-Section. When we got to theatre, they decided baby was fine and was going to bring me back to the labour suite, but it turned out I was still only 1cm dilated after 13 hours of labour, so they took her out there and then! Wahey!
She was fine. 9lb 3oz. Bit of a whopper as I'm only little, so don't think I could have pushe her out anyways!! I was 5 days overdue. For a while I was convinced they'd given me the wrong baby and kept asking bf if he had his eyes on her the whole time! Weird or what, but apparently it is quite common for women who have emergency C-sections. As we don't see the baby come out, and then it's taken away to be checked, it could be anyone's baby!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
