All this talk of nappies... I won't be buying any from the supermarket... I'm gonna go real nappies! Not going to buy any just yet, but really looking forward to it when I do!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

  • :T :T YAY - good for you Krystal :T :T

I think that lots of us would like to go real...I certainly considered it long and hard but I am worried enough that I won't be able to cope never mind making things harder for myself.

    :j :j Lucky you Krystal :j :j

I would have liked to use real nappies, but hubby wasn't so keen and i wasn't going to do half of one and half of the other.

Also, being my first, I am not sure how I am going to fiind everything so the disposable ones are a tad more convenient for me in that respect.

Has anyone got the free changing bag from Boots. What do they think of it? I need to get still as i have the voucher.

I've not found anywhere that does a laundry service for real nappies, so I'm going to stick with disposable. I'm so used to changing them, that it'd probably be a bit of a faff learning how to change in a different way. Going to be so odd to only change one nappy at a time, don't think I've ever changed less than 3 in a row. Do I still have to wear an apron and gloves and spray everything with antibac spray?

My Mum has bought herself a Johnsons box - a big purple box filled with nice smelly things. She won't let me have it, its hers and only she is allowed to use it.

I'm looking forward to Christmas, I expect I'll get a few baby bits - which will be my first, I'm not buying myself anything till 30+ weeks.

I mixed the 2 with DD but mostly used the flat terry squares that my Mum bought for me... I bought some lovely wraps towards the end but didn't get much use out of them before she potty trained herself... It really wasn't much bother to me... You put the nappy in the bucket then when you can't get the lid on you stick them in the washer lol... One thing I will do differently is I'll get a 2nd bucket this time so can do bigger loads (I always felt like I was wasting water with a small load) and treat myself to some lovely new shaped fleecey ones... I got given some for free from a council initiative that are lovely, with any luck I might get my hands on some more before baby arrives...

Ooh, and if you have a ring around your local sure starts, they sometimes do real nappy trials as a way to encourage you and you get all the nappies and exras for free!

It's arrived!!!!!! The pram has arrived!!!!!!

I'm off to read the instruction booklet and put it together (doesn't look taxing) so I can practice pushing it around the house. :D

*Is it sad that I am sooooooo excited by this????*

We,re planning to use disposables for the first few weeks then switching to reusable once things have settled down.

I got the free bag from boots. Its not glam but it does the job and Hubbles will be happy to use it as it is black and white. I'm still planning on getting a girly one for myself as a treat though ;)

Ours is in a box in a friend's garage. Hubbles and Mum are superstitious and won't let it cross the front step before Bean has sprouted :p

Af - It's this one The bugaboo cameleon http://www.johnlewis.com/4615/Product.aspx?source=30151

But it is in all black (we have a lemon bump and if it's all black then I can wear anything and not clash with it  - MIL's comment was that it would do for more than one because it's gender neutral  )

On a more boring note, our isofix base for the carseat also arrived :D
