    oh forgot a few things!
if you still won't one you can get the odd v. cheap moses bsket from linen warehouse, they don't always have them but when they do they're usually ones from john lewis mothercare etc, i didn't have one last time but thinking I might this time so I can move bubs easily as don't want to risk leaving unattended with a toddler around.

I get random pg related pains that are usually like mild period pain but not cramps just an ache and occasionally a sudden sharpish but not particularly painful. the worst thing I get is not quite SPD but the loosening hormone, in my hips esp my double jointed one it just feels like my hip bone isn't quite in the joint and hurts to put weight on but this happens occasionally in my doub jointed hip anyway so I'm used to popping it back in.

I think I'm anemic at the mo as very pale and tired so making sure I take my vits. Does anyone know which is the most Iron rich food? I'm thinking spinach or red meat

  • Sami - I think someone told me there is more iron in broccoli than in spinach - but I may be making that up!! Have you tried spatone? Not very MSE (because they are a supplement rather than getting your iron naturally) but they are good and don't constipate you.

I am awaiting examination by hubby but I think I have developed stretch marks  the reason I mention it is because they are in a place that I have not been smothering in body butter every day. I have faithfully buttered my bump and boobs and the front of my hips (IYSWIM) but these little silvery lines are around the side of my hips

I know that some people are just prone to them and even with using the lotions and potions you can still get them. I am just a little annoyed with myself that I wasn't being thorough enough in my attempts to prevent them.

A new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 2012
  • There's some Iron rich foods here. Looks like fortified breakfast cereal and figs are high on the list. Drinking orange juice at the same time is good for iron absorption although milk can be a hinderance so maybe not so good with the cereal?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I had a free sample of spatone last time but you need to mix it with fruit juice and I'm not sure I could drink it as not loving the fru ju at the mo.
I think i'll have to go get a bag of spinach to munch on and have steak n brocolli for tea 2mo, I'm allergic to most bfast cereals  but I'm wondering if fresh figs are as good as dried coz I know I really like them!

I've only got one proper purple stretch mark thats just next to my belly button and a couple of silvery ones on side of hips from last time, Really need to get hubby back into the routine of slathering my middle in cream as not used any at all so far :(

I'm off to bed so sleep tight and I'll be back on her 2mo as usual :) xx

  • Just catching up, will add my 2p worth on moses baskets/where to sleep

Millie was in a moses basket for 6 months (on a stand at first and then in the basket inside the cot) but she lasted the longest of any baby I know. I lent mine to a friend and she has broken it so I need a new one but i don't want to spend much cos chances are baby will not be in it long.

She went in her own room at about 6 weeks (possibly sooner) because I could not sleep with her in the room, babies are very noisy when they are asleep, and that coupled with the listening for her breathing just meant that I wasn't sleeping even when I had the chance so she went in her own room.

She slept through from about 13 weeks and has always been a brilliant sleeper, think that has more to do with being an october baby remember my GP saying that winter babies are better sleepers (?) (something to do with dark nights)

I'm convinced this baby is going to be completely different and make my life hell!

  • Hi and welcome to the thread, elastigirl!

Hope all goes well today, mirrorimage!

Millie's Mum, I think I have lucked out too with this baby as I had it too easy with Poppy! I had to have Poppy in my room though otherwise I would have been getting out of bed a squillion times a night to check on her as hearing her breathing was the reassurance I needed so that I could sleep :) (and if I didn't hear her I would prod her :rotfl:).

    xx
