  • One of my friends had a m/c last night at 6+4 . She told me 2w ago and was so happy but in the back of my mind I hoped and prayed everything would be ok and now its not and I feel awful :o.

*hugs* SB (and to your friend).

Do you mean you feel awful in general, or you feel awful for hoping everything would be okay and now it's not? Sadly, I think that hoping comes naturally for anyone who's been through it themselves and therefore unfortunately ends up with a slightly tarnished view that everything might not work out :(
  • Both, elle. She was so delighted but as soon as she told me my first thought was 'I really hope nothing goes wrong' when I really should have been thinking 'what wonderful news'. But as I have been through all the sadness myself, early pregnancy scares me so much that I really didn't want her to go through the heartache that I did.

And obviously my baby is due in a few weeks ...

To those struggling with breastfeeding at the moment can I please urge you to ring the National Breastfeeding Helpline 0844 20 909 20 There are women at the end of the line who have breastfed and are trained in giving breastfeeding support over the telephone. They may also be able to give you information on what is available in your area. Don't suffer alone!!! (The way the system is set up, unless you call from a mobile or unknown number you should get put through to someone in your local area. If there is no answer straight away, hang on!)

Sadly it's not snowing here, it is very very very rainy...

And I just spent 2 hours in a church who obviously have no fear of the rising fuel prices... The heating was on full blast, I was absolutely cooking!

  • No snow here at all was very sunny blue sky earlier but now overcast with light showers.

Got some sort of 'clunking' on my right side sort of hip area when i get up from my desk so figure thats some of those ligament loosening hormones at play!!

Advice please from all in the know about moses baskets. have decided i want one, probably mostly for use downstairs and have been looking around in the hope that il have decided before the sales but there are also loads on ebay. How much should I spend, is ebay worth it, is anywhere particularly(SP?) cheap?

Morning all.. (unusual for me to surface in the morning on a Sunday!)

We've got loads of snow! I was intending to go shopping this morning but have realised I want lots of heavy things and don't fancy pushing a big trolley around so I'll wait until OH gets home from work. I suspect we might be going shopping for thermals for OH too - he'll be freezing when he gets in :(

Can I ask.. all this loosening tendons in the early days - what does it actually feel like? The pains I'm getting (which lead to the scan) were like a stitch inside my left hip and general acheyness inside my pelvis, plus some period-pain type cramps across the front which I knew to expect. Just curious what the tendons thing feels like or if you don't notice it going on :)
I still get them, had one this morning infact, it was really quite bad one, made me fall to the floor hunched up, i got up and spun round far too quickly.
Yes it's like a stichy feeling, I described it like something had ripped inside me, it was on my left side.

Think I need ore support on my growing bump as I get it quite alot when walkin aswell.

Just a quick one. My OH is sitting here giving me funny 'have you not heard of the credit crunch type looks' because I have just reserved a place on an NCT course and it costs £280. I know its alot but its my first baby and i'd also love to meet people in my area. I havent paid for it yet as i'm waiting until after my 1st scan on 2nd December but just wondered if other people think its worth it. I suppose that would pay for the pushchair and other things so I just want to justify it.

I am 11+2 and as the 12wk mark gets nearer I am becoming more and more panicked about something going wrong. Just keep telling myself stress isnt good for the baby.

  • I havent read too much about NCT, what happens on the course?, it does seem alot but it is a charity isnt it

Is that just antenatal? Is there anything free in your area? There definately will be mum and baby groups which will be free (i.e under 1's, breastfeeding groups, community groups) check out your local children's centre to see what they are offering. def will be a good way to meet other new mums

But if your happy to pay NCT will be good and as last poster said it is a charity.
