AF: Don't talk to me about the aptamil polar bear they refuse to send me one- no idea why, I tried signing up and also tried my mum and MIL and still no bear - what have they got against me
oh that's not fair as it's really cute.
have you tried emailing them or phoning them?? it seems strange. it does arrive in a cardboard box (which says it is designed to fit through a letter box in a door) but maybe isn't going a miss in the post???mollythewestie wrote: »Yes, I joined Aptimal (sp? Not sure how you spell it). I have bought every pregnancy magazine going and applied for EVERYTHING free!!!:rotfl:
PS. Thanks SB!
i haven't bought one pregnancy mag yet (despite being 24 weeks today). i keep going to and then put them done. think it's my inner denial that i am in fact pregnant (which is stopping me buying nappies in advance despite my vouchers).
i have a freebie list to work though, but i am still doing that.0 -
mollythewestie wrote: »Apparently my MIL didn't have a name for weeks after she was born - my husbands grandmother was telling me last weekend (Although she doesn't know I'm pregnant yet!) In the end she was named after the character in a play they went to see, her words were "That name will do"
hee hee My FIL has 2 brothers and a sister the sister is youngest and his mum just assumed it would be another boy so hadn't thought of girls names she said to the MW "I hadn't considered it could be a girl, do you like any names" the MW said I like Julie her response "that'll do":rotfl:0 -

I buy every magazine too! Can't help myself I'm afraid!
I have also been a tester for a well known baby mag over the summer and received LOTS of fabulous goodies for me and Poppy to try!

rosies_mum wrote: »Afternoon all! Well "due date" day for me. Was feeling quite happy earlier but then things didn't go quite as planned at mw. She said baby has moved and it now lying in the OP position, which to me, I understand as back to back. Well, as I'm a natural born worrier, started to panic a bit as the only thing I've heard about these types of labour are that they are more painful. Any second or third timers ever been through this?
She did say it could still move around again as being my second, things are "more stretchy" than a first timer, as she put it! Other than that, she suggested getting on all fours.
Bit worried as I don't like the idea of have a c-section. She did say it may not come to that as often they can turn as part of labour, but then I always expect the worst! Also am measuring 42 wks so it sounds like I'm in for a big one (dd was 7lb 9 and she said will be bigger than her, but not necessarily 10lb plus, see, another panic I went into!).
Yep - one of my sons was back to back and turned during labour - hopefully yours will do the same!!

Rosies mum My friend's water broke both times whilst making curtains, do you fancy running up a pair?
Christopher was back to back about a week before he was born (1st baby) I read that if you lie down with your bum in the air they kind of fall out of your pelvis if they engaged and are then more likely to turn so I lay on the bed right up against the wall with my bum n legs up on the wall IYSWIM must have worked as 4 days later he popped out right way round
Thanks Sami_bee, thats helped to raise a smile! The things we'll try eh! Well, I've been scrubbing the carpet in the hall way..... we'll see what happens
AF - SB summed it up very well, can't believe you are still in denial :rotfl:
I signed up for some of the clubs and have had problems with not being sent things. EG The boots parenting club - there was a mix up with dates as they still had my previous pregnancy (before mc) registered. They changed the dates but I never got any vouchers which I was gutted about as I missed out on the freebie nappy changing bag. Rang them and they spouted something about a mail suppression list run by Bounty?! Rang them who knew nothing about it but re-registered me. Rang boots back who couldn't help. They did credit my advantage card with 1000 points which I suppose was something.
I'm wondering now though if thats why I never got the aptimal bear either?! Tried googling mail suppression/suspension lists but never got anywhere
Just gutted in case there are other freebies I've missed out on :mad:Proud mum to Matthew born 23/11/08 7lb 13ozand Rosie 12/01/05 7lb 9oz0 -
