whats best for heartburn as i seem to have this constantly and getting to the stage where i want to take something as its making me feel very ickie indeed.?
thanks
Nicole: milk is a basic thing for heartburn or you're allowed to have tums/original rennies - Check the label in case they are the modern fancy ones coz they aren't allowed. i swear by Gaviscon (once the m/s has passed otherwise you may find the texture makes you gag) you can get a huuuge 500ml bottle on free prescription from the doc's you can usually put it in like you would for a repeat 'script as when they see your pg in your notes they just put it through.
Just to warn as i mentioned the texture isn't the best, I said to my fellow pg friend that she would prob recognise the texture but I'm not telling her what its like. her reaction after she'd had it? Its like aniseed sperm! :rotfl:0 -
LouLee2008 wrote: »Ahh cool. thank you thats put my mind at rest a bit. ive been bleeding since i found out so about 4/5 days now. but hopefully should go away soon!
Louise, as its been a few days its less likely to be implantation bleed as I've never heard of this lasting more than 1 day, but is still likely to be nothing:D but I think if you try and speak to your local EPU 2morrow they will as I said before prob tell you to go in after 6 weeks but they might ask you to go in for blood tests. Try not to worry as i said its quite common to bleed around the time of your period, this is how some people only realise they are preg when they go into labour, I'm not sure where red mel is but she's usually on here and I'm sure she's had this sort of bleeding for her whole preg.
Elle: my thoughts are with you I really hope all is ok my friend has just had an eptopic and is no fun at all xx0 -
Hi Everyone.
I've not been on for over a week as our router gave up working....It has taken Sky this long to get us out a new one!!
Anyway I've had a quick flick through but there are far too many posts to catch up on, so I will just say Congratulations to any newly pregnant and any new babies.
I can't believe I will be 24wks tomorrow, it is going so fast now. I also only have 8wks left in work, which I am glad of as I have no interest in the place at all. I am also sick of everyone (patients/customers) telling me how huge I am, and what a big baby I am going to end up with etc etc...
My two boys have now had there birthdays and are now 6 & 8, I can't believe how grown-up the older one seems all of a sudden!!! I am keeping well and we are all looking forward to the new arrival.
Take care all
Mel x
ps. oh yeah, my best friend gave birth to a baby girl on thursday, after being in hospital since the tuesday and having to be induced due to pre-eclampsia. She is still in now as she had to be monitored due to high blood loss and baby Megan got jaundiced....apart from all that they are recovering well and I am soo looking forward to them coming out.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

I'm back.......
crossed post, but yes I had bleeding at 10wks 15wks 17wks 19wks....Thankfully baby is kicking hell out of me as I type, so all has been well, but I had previously had two mc's so was very worried. All bleeding seems to have stopped now (fingers crossed)
Phone midwife office or direct to epau(if you have there number) and stress how worried you are and they should get you booked in for a scan!!!Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Evening all! Glad BP is a bit lower SB, try and take it easy (easier said than done with a little one to run around after I know!).
Angela and nicole, so glad your scans went well. Lets hope things settle down now.
Elle poor you! At least fri isn't that far off. Take it as easy as you can.
Congrats Bonnie! Glad to hear you are now home and can enjoy being a mummy! Hope Daniel will be a little angel xProud mum to Matthew born 23/11/08 7lb 13ozand Rosie 12/01/05 7lb 9oz0 -
AAHHH!! Too many new posts!!
Congrats to all the new mums and new mums to be, and good luck to all due scans this week.
I've had my 28w midwife appt. today - can't beleive i'm 28 weeks!!
The did my wee, had a feel of tummy, heartbeat (140bpm), blood pressure, stole my blood and gave me my anti-d injection.
Everything ok and normal - nice sized baby, whatever that means!!
Anti-D jab really hurt - but i think the midwife might have been a bit of a butcher because I had one a few weeks ago at hospital in the same arm and that one didn't hurt.
I don't see anyone now til 36w - is that normal, it seems ages away!:beer:0 -
That does seem a long time! I thought all maternity care had gone to long waits between appointments but when I had my home visit a couple of weeks ago the midwife said I would see them as much as I did with DD which was every month till 28w then fortnightly till 36w then weekly...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
