SB, I didn't get that much at Manc baby show,
2 huggies sample packs (travel pack wipes, 1 pull up, 1 swim nappy, 1 disposable change mat)
    Fairy wash tablets + softener
persil wash powder + softener x2
    small jute shopping bag
    fridge magnet
    nursery thermometer
    Pre-school communication educational pack

Looks quite long written like that but its not really worth the £11.50 I paid to get in

Skinty - I'd phone them up and talk to the sonographer at each place to help you decide. Neither of mine were medical places, but are near hospitals and have arragements in place, and will liase with your team, if need be. My first scan was before I'd seen a GP or a midwife, and they were very reassuring and helpful. The most important thing I needed was reassurance. Luckily the first place I went to fit me in on a Saturday morning with no notice! Think she could tell be me crying down the phone that I desperately needed a scan. You could also ask about the qualifications of the sonographer. What would a GP be able to offer you that a fully qualified sonographer wouldn't?

Thanks FG, I was just worried that maybe if something was wrong I ought to be near a doctor? Like you, I just want reassurance that this baby is Ok at the moment, and if I can see the heartbeat that would be brilliant as the risk of mc drops so much at that point.
I have talked to the cheaper place but probably need to call the other place too and have a chat.

Its actually the weekend I'm due greent... Depending on my status at the time I think I might pop down, you can pick up some real bargains on things like real nappies and pushchairs etc... We've decided not to risk getting advance tickets though ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Well at least I already have the sma cuddle robe coz they sent it me when Chris was a tiddler.
I wish I'd gone when I was expecting him as they had prams as low as half price but I'm not sure if i'll need one this time:rolleyes:

The best bits of the day for me were the free train ride and seeing neshe (sp?) the model who's always on LK today:rotfl:I'm so sad!

ETA. I've got a 10% code for what sounds like a good bra place but i'll have to add later as Chris is currently using me as a bed!

Reety, Can you take someone with you? I'm a fainter too and booking in bloods they usually take a bout 6 of those test tube thingys - it took me about half an hour before I could even contemplate getting up and the MW and my mum had to help me to the car

Thanks Sami_Bee, I am taking my aunt with me in case they do bloods and I fully intend to ask to lie down for them, I know I will faint and will be a bit wobbly to drive home so am getting a ride over there too :o Its the most awful thing, fainting!

I will feel very foolish if its just an informal chat as September Baby says, I guess there is only one way to find out! Am deadly nervous though, silly arent I? x

    Hello I'm back

My holidays were very jolly and I'm off again on Thursday for a surprise long weekend - my hubbie is wonderful :D

So much chatting since I was on last - congrats again to Skinty :D

Huge congratulations to Bargainaholic on your birth story (ouch!) and a huge welcome and congratulations to Emma and Isla :D She's gorgeous :D

I can't remember everything else (brain is a still away on holiday I think!).

Have to brave the supermarket in a wee while and then do some of this washing - yuck!

Oh and TMI alert *I woke up one day on holiday to find a very small wet patch on the front of my t-shirt. It would appear that I leaked  But only on one side and It only happened the once - I'm blaming the heat otherwise I'll freak out (as I did at the time - bursting into tears on poor hubbie who actually thought the whole thing was a tad amusing ;) )

  • Sorry silly question but can I ask what all this 6+4 and 12+2 etc... means?
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same

There's nothing to be nervous about but I think I was nervous for all my appointments 1st time round its only natural when you don't know what to expect

6+4 means 6 wks and 4 days pregnant. I personally just talk about weeks as I find it too confusing otherwise!
