Additions Direct is what used to be Argos Additions, and yes they stock the same stuff as Littlewoods (same catalogue, different cover). Be sure to check which one you can get a better discount with before you order0 -
candice - possibly not the best idea but nevertheless an option would be to take a mortgage break for a few months? Many of the banks offer them on a discretionary basis...although god only knows if they will grant them in the current financial climate.
It's a long time since I studied or worked in benefits but is it still the case that a tax credit assessment lasts for a full 6 month period, regardless of whether you have had a change in circumstances during that period?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I got a six month maternity break on my mortgage when I was pg with DD... It was a godsend really, they let me have 6 months off and with a birthday and christmas present from my Dad that was suspisiously the same amount as one payment I managed to not get repossessed when I lost my job!
I second applying for tax credits, we get them now and I'm quite looking forward to the baby rate next year! The only thing is, we get working tax credits and that actually disqualifies us from a lot of things such as healthy start vouchers and free school meals which I find bizarre, we only get it because DH wage is pretty naff!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Sorry, no reason for wanting to know other than I'm a right nosey biatch

Dividends are payments made by a corporation to its shareholder members.
Hubby has a limited company. He is a director and an employee. He takes a dividend every so often to get the profits out of the business and into his account. It isn't regular, so we don't have any idea what sort of 'total income' he'll have over each year.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
FG, I'm certain the Tax Credits people have all sorts of people's scenarios to deal with so it might be worth applying and see what happens? Lots of people have dividends and I'm sure its always based on the prevous year's income so all the info should be on DH's last Tax Return to 5 April 2008? I think its roughly around the £50,000/£60,000+ mark that you wouldn't get anything at all.

I'm alright, pain is easing a bit and I can potter about the house again! I was scared for a while, thought I'd be on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy.
Are we going to be too pregnant to go to the London Baby thingy?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Feelie: you could always over estimate what hubby will earn then you would get slightly less than you should and then they will make up the difference in the next year, the jumps for big changes are at £25k and then £55kish also changes if working more/less than 16hrs per week0
