oh forgot to mention, the MWs I saw yesterday had a big pile of vouchers for BOGOF tickets for Manc baby show so if you live near the show ask your MW if they have them too - anyone know if the "grandparent" ticket is for actual grandparents or OAPs?? Chris's Grandma is far from a pensioner!

Also I had a note in my bounty pack saying the nappy bin offer thats in the bounty book is no longer running but that there will be a voucher to get it for £5 in the new mum pack you get at hosp. Although I know they do vary from hosp to hosp depending on how busy they are as my mums friend does the bounty packs for warrington and when I said I'd got a toothbrush in mine at wigan she said they hadn't had the brushes for months at warrington

I hate health proffessionals that get on their high horse when they think they know better than you... They must assume that every new mum is a moron...

The woman I saw yesterday asked me if I was going to have another water birth this time and I mentioned labouring at home (Note I didn't even say home birth, just labouring) and she went into a 20 min rant about how high risk I was and seeing as my first baby was so gargantuan then this one is going to be king kong, probably get it's shoulders stuck on the way out and I would have mere moments to get it out or it would die... I smiled and nodded at her... On the inside I was giving her the finger....

I mean I'm not even that struck on a home birth... Think of all the cleaning I would have to do, before and after.... But every person I see that tries to change my mind makes me want to do it out of stubbornness!!!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Aww Krystal, it drives you mad doesn't it! I've recently read a book called"call the midwife" its about a midwife in the 50's when midwives had only just been invented and all the women she saw gave birth in a bedroom of houses with no central heating or running water and they all did fine!

Thought I'd share a video to show you what you have instore when your bumps are toddlers its Christopher raiding Nonna's fridge here

It's the sound of yet another grown man crying because wifey has the most wonderful bazoomers and he's not allowed near them ;):D:D

  • Skintchick, try and remember what I said about this being a completely brand new pregnancy and somehow, I know its so difficult, try and think positively. You are probably still greiving your loss (it took me 6m to even consider trying again) and these pesky hormones won't help either!.

    Take care of yourself.

  • Hi guys, Im having a mini panic about money and Im REALLY sorry to those of you that wont get SMP or may not be earning up to D-day but would appreciate your input.

If most of maternity is spent just receiving 117 a week(or whatever that is monthly) how do we cope???!!!!

I pay most of the bills from my account and dh usually contributes then pays some other bills plus an old loan from his account.

I figure even if i save like mad between now and May to dip into evry month that I will still need more than dh normally gives me to cover our regular bills AND have extra baby bills?????

make any sense, any reassurance out there??

Candice - I think I know what your saying ;)
Can hubby afford to give more than he does now?
don't forget you will also get child benefit and probably Child tax credits and working tax credits. If you have a look round I think on the benefits board there is a calculator for what you will get, in case your anything like me I'm currently getting £57 pw JSA and hubby earns just under £25kpa we get tax credits of £180 per month plus child benefit which I've completely forgotten how much it is but I think £68 per month and every family is entitled to that bit. HTH!
