  • Morning all.

Hope your all feeling good, Congrats on your blue bump feelinggood! I wonder if I will be right with my flavour??? I still have 2 and a half weeks til I find out though

Oh a holiday to Goa sounds amazing You go for it and enjoy yourself!

I am really excited, I bought a 'used' swinging crib and drape/bedding set from ebay for £5.00  :D

OH went and picked it up yesterday and it still has the tags and stickers on it all, the bedding was never used and the baby apparently went in the crib once and hated it so slept in the bed with the parents! So Ill just need a new matress. Yay!

Trying to decide on if Im going to need a moses basket, The pram I want has a carrycot and now have the swinging crib, so Im not sure if I will bother or not. But probably will as you never know if the babes will go in the swinging crib!

    Enjoy your Sunday All!

  • Congrats, lwcus!!! :j Hope everything is well.

And another BLUE bump joins us! Congrats FG!!!

Nicole, personally I would not go but I hope you have a wonderful time! I felt daring flying to Dublin a few weeks before I had my scan :rotfl:. No one knew (not even my two sisters). But it was a last minute cancellation by someone else (and free) and DH and I thought it would do me the world of good to have a weekend away with the girls before baby 2 came along :D.

  • nicole - I wouldn't have gone to goa personally but I agree that going somewhere is a fab idea.

My personal worry with goa would be access to decent medical facilities should the worst happen. Sorry - I don't want to rain on your parade but is a 3rd world country really practical? If you got a bad dose of food poisoning then your body may not be able to cope...there are a few ladies on here who have been hospitalised due to dehydration.

If you do decide to go I would advise that you are better avoiding the rice than the meat.

You need to be very careful in the sun when pregnant too - your body will not react as normal and in some women it can cause brown spots that don't fade (there is a medical term for it somewhere).

I would chat to your midwife before you make a decision - at the very least to find out if you can fit it in around apppointments.

Just so you don't think I am a complete party pooper having said all that, I flew long-haul at 13 weeks and had a cracking last holiday in vegas and california (disobeying many pregnancy rules along the way) and would recommend a final fling to anybody!!

Edited to add - you may find flying a pain in the !!! too! How far along will you be when you go? The flying advice changes pre-12 weeks and post-12 weeks.

MFD: nicole said she'll be 10/11 wks while away

I personally wouldn't go but thats because I have no interest in travelling to india and I'm not the best traveler so anything out of europe would cause me far too much stress that I wouldn't want to be so stressed while pg IYSWIM
I have to say I looked at the general advice here it its sounds scarey but then again how many people travel there every year and have no probs whatsoever if your careful what you eat (I agree avoid rice as it can be dodgy even in good old england) I'm sure you'd be fine so if you feel confident then go for it, you prob won't get much chance once bubba arrives!
