This is going to be long when I post it!
You can get a thing called Fertilitea on line. http://www.fertilitea.com/0 -
Hi Annie.
I wanted to thank you for this info. I read this last night and it immediately worried me as some months I take Ibuprofen quite often. I take it alongside paracetamol for period pains, back pains and migraines.
I dug out our fertility consultants e-mail address and dropped him an e-mail. The following is taken from the reply I got.......
**Regarding the Ibuprofen, it is absolutely fine to take it for period pains, as there is no chance of being pregnant then. It should not be taken regularly around mid-cycle, as in some women it may inhibit ovulation. In practice this is usually only an isue in women who are taking it pretty much everyday.**
Hope thats helpful to you and others. I had no idea!

No problem. Is good to share info - thanks for letting us know what the consultant said!

I found it really helpful too. I'll be avoiding it from now on. Do you know if aspirin should be avoided too? I know that you have to avoid it once pregnant but what about in the initial cycle stages?0 -

Absolutely no idea about aspirin, I'm afraid! Try NHS Direct?
I'm sitting here with a glass of apple juice, a spoon and some sweets, eyeing the benylin non-drowsy bottle with trepidation. I must be crazy, but I'm wholeheartedly doing the SMEP! Down the hatch! Bottoms up! :rotfl:

Hi everyone,
After the recent discussions of ibuprofen etc I thought I would share a more natural remedy for headaches I have found. It's called tigerbalm and I bought it from my local chemist. It smells like vicks and you basically just massage it into your temples. I suffer quite frequently with a variety of different headaches from mild tension sort to severe stabbing ones and I have found this helps significantly with alot of them. Not all but a fair proportion and even in those it doesn't get rid of it does seem to ease them. May be worth a try for some of you out there.

Thanks for the info becs. I will try and get some at the weekend as I am quite a headachey person. I had no idea how many pills I drop down my throat until I had to start a "medication diary" as part of my Clearblue trial. Since seeing the shocking proof I have tried to ride out a headache if at all possible.
As for taking aspirin whilst TTC I found this site....
http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/aspirinexpert/
which says this **A few studies show that taking aspirin around the time of conception and in early pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of miscarriage**
And this site was particularly helpful as it mentions both Ibuprofen and Aspirin http://www.cks.library.nhs.uk/patient_information_leaflet/infertility#
**Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) - long-term use, or a high dosage of NSAIDs, like ibuprofen or aspirin, can make it more difficult to conceive.**
Oh and I'm glad my info was of help to some of you:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

I got a stick from Boots called "4head", some blurb from the website:Unlike most headache treatments, 4head Stick is specially designed to be applied directly to the forehead. It contains 100% pure levomenthol (a type of peppermint) in a convenient retractable stick dispenser.
And I stopped taking ibuprofen now as well - I thought as it is not to be used while pregnant, I will avoid it while TTC. I get a lot of pain during AF usually and general killing headaches, but now I just suffer and try to ride them out without any medicines if I can. I will take aspirin if it is really bad, but not that it helps with the pain really, jsut makes you feel easier that you ctually took something and must be helpng with pain. Just psychological, I think.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
