Moneyangel I hope they find out what's caused this for you, you never know could just be an ultra heavy af cleaning everything our ready for a BFP soon!

Kenco I'm crossing everything for you! I really hope it's some positive news for you instead of the usual kick in the teeth! It would make me absoloutely ecstatic if you got a BFP. It still brings tears to my eyes thinking of your post a few months ago.

Are the "hello, this is me" posts allowed to be extra long:p I've been lurking for a number of months but couldn't bring myself to finish telling my story (hopefully I'll manage to hit the "submit reply" button tonight)

I had a m/c on mothers day this year. I have one child already-but he was "not planned". I dont like to call him an accident because I have cerebral palsy and so was not "supposed to be able to concieve" let alone carry to term (okay-38 weeks to garuntee c-section). I was on the rebound from my current fiance (very long complicated relationship) and when DS bio found out I was pg he left...I lived in South Africa at the time and when DS was 4 months old, DF flew out there and proposed to me...and now DS and I are here, with his real daddy, and I'm dying to give him a sibling and I'm dying to make my DF a father.

The only reason we havent got married yet is we want both our parents to be there and co ordinating it is turning into a nightmare...so we decided it was best to have baby first because parents are BOUND to come for that and then we can get married and dedicate bub at the same time. Backwards maybe, but it suits us.

So we've been trying for just under 18 months now. I have signs of pcos (but I'm still waiting for results. Ive had two scans now (two months). On my right there appeared to be some cystes and I didnt pick up a surge...nor did I have any CM to indicate fertility. The next scan was this month, and they caught my left doing the work which is really funny because my CP affects the left side of my body). There was a likely corpus luteum and it was a nice size and my endometrium was 9mm thick. I'm 11 dpo today and cramping so here's hoping. I'm due AF next week Tuesday (21st) and it's my birthday on Wednesday (23rd) Im having a do on Saturday as it is my 30th so I'm planning to test on Friday (24th), so that I dont ruin my actual birthday on the day if its BFN and I dont make the baby drunk on Saturday if it's a BFP. (although I dont want to announce it but I know it wont go unnoticed and five of my guests got pg when I did in Aprilish)...I just need to keep my mind occupied for the next week because I'm driving DF mad.

ETA: YAY, I hit the "submit reply" button.

    INFERTILITY
    MOST AT RISK: VEGETARIANS

About one in six couples experience problems trying to conceive and there is some evidence showing that the problem is compounded by a vegetarian diet.
Studies have suggested that eating large amounts of soya, popular with vegetarians because it provides protein, can affect a woman's fertility.
Researchers at King's College London showed that a compound in soya called genistein sabotages sperm as it swims towards the egg.
Genistein is present in all soya products. The researchers recommended that women avoid soya around the most fertile times of the month to aid conception.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

*breathes* "I am only on my first TTC cycle, I am only on my first TTC cycle.......and I only have soya milk"

Oh I hope so MadMac and I really hope it's our turn soon, I'm getting fed up with my mum's nagging about dh's sperm test! It's a flipping nightmare, we've been told he has to take it to a hospital that's 50 minutes away minimum then add in parking and trying to find department a good hour and 10 at least. Obviously sample needs to be there within an hour so he will have to do it in the toilets at the hospital! All very annoying when there is a huge hospital 4 miles away from us but GP can't refer him to them! Flipping NHS! Anyway because of the restrictions of us doing SMEP for the past couple of months it's basically amounting to 1 week (so 5 working days) that he could do the test in and then of course he has to take time off work to go and do it! She doesn't get this and it's wearing thin now her constant comments about us not wanting children because he hasn't done the test!

Evening everyone can i re join you all please. I had to stop checking in with you all a few weeks ago coz i was driving myself mad with ss and tests. I had myself convinced i was pg and did 5 tests in one day. I was adamant i could see a vfp. It wasnt of course and decided i needed to take some time out.
Anyhoo i have no idea what cd i'm on my cycle has been non existent since i had myself convinced i was pg 6weeks ago, but i've been doing ov tests every now and then and had a pos yesterday and today so been bding. Not sure when af should be due but i reckon i should be ok to test in 2weeks. I just need to not get myself all tied up with ss. Who said it would be easier to concieve 2nd time round:rolleyes:

    Hi all,

Please can I join you all? Me and DH stopped using contraceptives about a month and a half ago, and although he doesn't want us to "try" for a baby (he'd rather we just enjoyed ourselves and then got a lovely 'surprise' at some point), I can't help but think in terms of trying...if that makes sense!

TBH I find all the excitement of thinking about it quite fun, albeit pretty scary at the same time!

I have managed to convince myself I've been pregnant each month so far; first time I felt really ill towards the end of my cycle, did a test on CD29 and got a BFN (I'm trying to get into all these abbreviations!) followed by AF a few hours later, so this month I waited a couple of days after AF was due, got another BFN, few days later still no AF then she finally came on CD33 - my longest cycle so far this year.

I've now read that the tests aren't very accurate for about a week after AFs due, so will try to be patient in future, but I'm not sure how you all manage it!
Proud to be a moneysaver!

    Hi Emmzy,

I've just googled and there seem to be equal number of reports saying soy affects fertility as it doesn't. Some reports say it does whereas others say in countries such as asia where they consume a much higher rate of soy than the UK there is no real difference in fertility rates. They do all mainly go on to say if you are having difficulty in conceiving you should try limiting or cutting out soy in your diet.
