    Hi all

I am new to the forum but have been Reading all of the posts. I am 25 and oh is 27 we have begun our first month of not using protection (oh still has trouble saying out loud that we are tryin to conceive). Decided to get a cb ov kit and got my first lh surge today on day 12. As soon as I saw it I wanted to bd obviously but oh wasn't around and now I'm worried thY every passing minute I'm missing the chance of getting pg!!

Can anyone confirm for me the window after positive lh result? Since decidingto ttc (i've wanted to for two years bit oh wasn't ready) it's all I can think about. X

Hi, I have tried using an ov predictor kit this month. when you get the LH surge, think it means that you will ovulate at some point within 12 and 36 hours. don't think you have to bd straight away ha ha but need to get busy as much as poss for the next few days ;)

Hello people! How's everyone this morning?

Welcome, clarity :hello: Sorry I can't help you with the lh info, but when you ovulate the egg survives for about 24hrs, so I would think you're fine to wait til later ;) but if I'm wrong here, somebody'll be along to correct me soon enough :D

Madmac - how're you today? Feeling any better?

    Moneyangel
    - I hope things get sorted for you soon, and that you're feeling a bit better today.

    Confuzzled
    - I'm jealous :p wish I was on my 2ww! No, actually, I wish I was at least coming up for ov!! I hate long cycles  I really hope mine won't be longer than 6wks :( But having this forum to keep me distracted is good - surely there'll be some testing to get excited about soon? :D

Greenr - maybe you've already ovulated, which is why cm is drying up?The EWCM is the most fertile, so it would make sense you had it before lh surge.I think the last day of EWCM is when you ov, but not 100% on that.

    - If you're lurking, I hope you're having a fun and relaxing month? And that the job is going well :D

Thanks for your comments Snugglepants! If this is the case, that would mean I ovulated on either day 10, 11 or 12 (according to the ov test). This is quite early to ovulate isn't it? My cycle is 27 or 28 days so thought I'd be ovulating around 13th or 14th day. Does anyone else ov early in their cycle?

Do you mean ov'd on those days according to CM or LH surge? I would go with the LH surge as if it was detected that should be the most reliable indicator? Someone correct me if I'm wrong :D edit: just read back what you wrote! sorry :o if your LP is 14 days, then to have ov'd on day 12 would only put your cycle out by 1 day.

I don't think it's uncommon for cycles to vary by a couple of days or so. I think that each ovary can produce a different cycle length, so depending which side released an egg. Have you come off any method of contraception that stops you ov'ing (ie the pill)? If so, how long?

In the times I've not been on the pill I've had varied cycles, usually with it alternating between 5 1/2 and 6wks (roughly, might have been longer - it's been so long!) so I think I had the alternating cycle thing going on.

I came off the pill over a year ago and used other forms of contraception as i had been told that it can take ages for the pill to get out of your system. since coming off the pill I have had 27 day cycles apart from the last one which was 28 days. it was my first month of trying the ov tests so think i'll be a bit better next month! I'm presuming that because i had a LH surge last friday, i might have ovulated sat, sunday or monday - is that right? or could I ovulate today or tomorrow? Not even sure if I could have ovulated the day i actually got the LH surge - does anyone know?

Hi all, CD15 here (normally ov day) and nothing to report :( A bit miffed but I suppose as I've been ill that'll have knocked my ov back a few days, so will just keep bding I suppose!

Clarity - after the LH surge you have 12-36 hours before you actually ovulate, so just be patient and jump on OH when he gets home!

Skint-Catt - I was on Cerazette and worried my head off about the scare stories I read about people having problems. I'm 5 months in and so far not conceived but equally my cycle returned to normal after the first month. Also my best friend came off it on Dec 28th, and by March 17th was pregnant. Just go for it is my advice!

Edit to add for Greenr - yes I think you can ovulate the day you detect the surge. Ovulating on day 10/11/12 is quite early but still normal, plus if you have a 28 day cycle it means you have a nice long luteal phase with plenty of time for the egg to embed :)
