Moneyangel, I'm so sorry - do look after yourself - sending hugs your way.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

I have given in and come to bed - cramping so bad that a hot water bottle is needed! At least I've managed to put the sick bowl to one side for now.
As an aside, my ClearBlue Fertility Monitor didn't want a test stick early last month, so will it be any different this month do you think?

Ooh I know the hot water bottle cramp scenario :( it'll soon pass though :) As for the monitor, mine has asked for them later but has settled at starting on CD7 so it has 10 sticks to cover the likely time (I normally ov CD14-16)

I also need to confess my selfish moment (I didn't share it with her). Turns out she got pg by accident - on the pill and had tummy bug and didn't use extra protection - don't get me wrong she does want kids at some point and would be a great mum - but she's obviously really fertile. I felt awful but I had a jealousy pang halfway through lunch - I don't wish any problems on her, I just wish I could be as fertile as all my friends seem to be. I feel a complete cow thinking this when she's just had a mc, but I feel I should be honest on here. I guess its cathartic to write it down.

    XXX

Gena, we all feel like that, its only human after all. Its only a passing emotional thing and you know if your friend really needed you those emotions wouldn't stop you from helping her.

    Bitzer,
Don't give up hope yet! I've had a couple of cycles where by monitor only gives me 1 high day and in 1 cycle went straight from low to peak on CD18!
MadMac sorry you're feeling rough with AF, it's enough of an insult it showing up at all without making it painful too! My cbfm starts asking for tests at cd9.

Thanks becs, as always you're a voice of reason! :T Its just so frustrating not knowing what's going on and the thought I might have b*ggered it up trying to be clever at the start of the month! That'll teach me!

Moneyangel, I do hope you feel better soon. I hope you can take the positives out of this though, I've heard a mc can help you conceive again faster as your body is primed or something. Hopefully that will happen for you and you get the bfp you want soon :grouphug:

nunnygirl - mmm dairymilk! I know it must have been maddening to do all that work then the out-laws come late, but think, you got so sit with your feet up after all that calorie-burning work and munch on chocolate in the knowledge of a job well done

kmckee - I second that you sound like a wonderful friend. Just being the person a friend feels they can talk to is a wonderful thing.

And all you others (posters and lurkers;)) have some sticky baby dust and get bd-ing (even if you're not close to ov - do it for the sheer joy of it :p)

well it seems ive managed to mess up my dates this month, I posted on the 9th of july that my AF was starting as I was getting really bad pains and that I was CD25, however in my diary I had written CD28 so Ive just done a million pregnancy test between then and now as AF didnt turn up !! (i dont have a clue my cycle length as ive just come off the pill but prior to that i was a steady 28 days)

Ive got myself in such a state as ive had constant nausea, which actually turns out was probably a tummy bug as 3 of the mums from school have also had it.

so im now (actually) CD29 and no signs of AF starting, but must refrain from wasting any more pg tests ;)

    Morning ladies,

Another anxious night over. Just had a phone call from hospital, they are not going to scan because pg would only be 4-5 weeks max so they have decided to do blood tests today and thurs.

How much can they tell from blood tests??

i think the blood test will show the amount of hcg (??) levels in your blood, a decrease from today to thurs will show a miscarriage, an increase will show the pregnacy is continuing and you will then be scanned when its possible. no levels will indicate no pregnancy,

have you tested at home at all ??

    big hug ,

  • Thanks Mishka,

No I havent tested as I just assumed it was a complete miscarriage. I dont want to get my hopes up but maybe I should?

Im still bleeding lightly so I really dont know what to think!

TBH i would test, i wouldnt want to have to spend days possibly mourning the loss of a pregnancy that never was. If you get a positive or negative then at least its some extra info to give to the docs, a blood test however is the only way to trace very small levels in your system so even though you may get a negative there is still no saying you havent had a miscarriage.

actually now ive typed all that testing isnt really going to get you an answer any sooner, maybe it is best to leave it to the docs ??

sorry, im no help am i ??

  • Thats pretty much what i thought...although i did just do a test and BFN!

If it wasnt a miscarriage then i really dont know what it was...even the doc seemed convinced that was all it could be!

Heading off to hosp in 15 minutes so hopefully by lunchtime should have a better idea of whats going on.

Thanks for all your well wishes! :-)
