    Ah Shelly,

I think we must be lone voices in a sea of madness! I completely agree with you. Apart from anything else it's not at all MSE to be doing a test before AF is due and on day of AF. I try so hard not to let TTC take over my life but it is so hard if you're charting BBT because it's something you have to do so religiously and to be honest I've had enough of it. I bought a clearblue fertility monitor of ebay and am really looking forward to next month not having to temp every single day and get hooked into staring at charts trying to see patterns etc.
Having been charting it has shown me that I don't ov until day 20 so I know there would be absoloutely no point whatsoever in doing tests until at least 3 days past AF day which keeps me sane!
It's also like women who tell everyone they're pregnant when they did the test a few days ago. Had a friend who has had 6 MC and every time she was pg she told everyone immediately, I don't get it! Obviously on here is different because it's all anonymous but telling friends and relatives so early is just mad or is it me?

I couldn't hack temping at all, I did it the first month and I hated it so, so much. I'll have to get very desperate before I try that again.

Gracie - I hope your pukiness is for a good preggy reason!

I am officially miserable today - someone I know told me she's pg - after no time at all, which makes it even harder to take.

I did really well to be able to smile and say congratulations, but I had a bit of a cry later. I just want to be getting on with the SMEP so I can actually be doing something towards getting a bfp. At the moment I feel like a big failure :(

How do you deal with it when everyone around you seems to be getting pregnant? My office is full of pregnant ladies and new mums bringing their offspring into work for us all to coo over - it's driving me crazy!

When I was pregnant with DD I had to tell everyone when I was only 5 weeks gone as at the time I went out every weekend and they would have all sussed it out straight away when I wasn't drinking. I managed to get off with it the first weekend but wouldn't have managed it any longer than that.:o

Incase anyone is interested Boots are doing buy one get one free on First Response pregnancy test. You can get 4 for £10.49. I bought two packs today incase I need them next week. No new symptoms for me and I don't feel like I could be pregnant like I did last month, but then again I wasn't pregnant last month so maybe that's a good sign. :rotfl:

I know how you feel! I have 4 best mates, one had a baby last week, one is due in February and another's sister is due next month. My sisters best mate is also due in February so it seems like everyone is expecting. The other friend is very broody too but she is waiting for a ring on her finger before she tries. If I had done that then my eggs would be all dried up by then. :rotfl: Been living with OH for 10 years, we've got a DD age 7 and our own house but I think my DD will make it up the aisle before I do. :D

I tried temping the first month but I couldn't see the blooming thermometer in the dark and ended up breaking it and never bothered buying another one. Saying that I bought a meat thermometer today for testing the turkey at christmas, will that do? :rotfl:

Don't you just hate how this makes you so sad about happy news? One of my old friends had a baby a few weeks ago and I'm so relieved I won't be home for Xmas as I won't have to see her. Isn't that so awful? The christening is in January and in my head I'm all "if I'm pg again I'll go, if not I'll say I couldn't manage it." My aunt and uncle are having a baby soon and I'm so glad that as we're both ex-pats in different countries it will be easy to avoid them.

To top things off both of my neighbours babies are teething or something. I regularly wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of babies crying. It makes me cry too. :(

    Hi GracieP,

I know what you mean, I am sick of temping big time. I started doing it originally to see whether it looked like I was ovulating because of my hormones being screwed up with my tumour. Relieved to see it does look like I am, Originally I bought ov test strips off ebay and used them for the first month and that never showed a positive so I decided to try temping.

Also know what you mean about other people's good news. As you probably read earlier about friend of dh announcing she was pregnant by accident and not sure she even wants a baby!

Fingers crossed you get a BFP soon Gracie.

Absolutely! Today I've also had pics of a friend's newborn sent to me and had to put into a collection for someone at work who gave birth last week, and I just wanted to go home and hide under the duvet! Normally I would have been happy for them, but I just feel like 'it should be ME!', and then I feel bad for thinking it!

It must be awful for you to be woken by the babies crying next door - it would make me cry too, I think. I'm also starting to become really distressed when I see girls with bumps smoking - I have to really bite my tongue not to yell at them that they don't deserve their babies.

Even that man/woman has announced he/she is having another baby today! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7728513.stm
How is it that someone who has 'messed about' with their body so much can still manage to conceive but I can't?!

Just to say that I think sometimes when people say they've not been trying long that might not be the case. I know when I get pregnant I will only tell my very close friends how long we've been trying (however long that may be) and everyone else will get the 'It just happened' line simply because I'm quite a private person. I know it doesn't make it any easier when everyone around you seems to be pregnant at the moment:rolleyes: !

By the way, when you're TTC, during 2ww when you don't know whether or not your pregnant how far do you go in terms of doing things you wouldn't do when pregnant? I mean things like lifting, drinking alcohol, caffeine etc etc. Part of me feels that I need to act as if I AM pregnant during this time, but part of me thinks that this could take a long time so I can't put my life on hold.....very interested in others views (particularly as my job involves quite a bit of lugging heavy things about- how dangerous could this be?)

Fingers crossed to all those waiting to find out ;) .
