Hi - my cycle was 28 days last month (normally 27 days though) so when should I start testing for ovulation?
Depends how many sticks you want to use I suppose. You could start from CD10 to give you an idea about when you ov then next month use less sticks accordingly (assuming you don't strike it lucky this month) I.e. ov on CD 16 this month, so start testing from CD12 next month...
Well that's what I'd do. My cycle is 26-28 days and ov is CD13-15 and my monitor asked for my first stick on CD8 this month
I know its off topic, but I love wedding chat, I wish I could have our day all over again it was so much fun! :jNever argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.0 -
bitzer - Do you recommend a monitor?
I didn't get any joy with the OV tests and I'm sure if I kept buying those each month it will cost the same as a monitor in the end. My cycles are all other the place.0 -

Well I only have one as it belonged to my best mate who used it once and is now 20wks gone! She let me borrow it, so aside from the sticks (which are £12 on amazon) its quite MSE for me! I however have been using it for 4 months and am still here... It detects your oestrogen surge and then your LH surge, hence giving you "high" and then "peak" days. If I had to shell out for one I'm not convinced I would, but I am glad I have used it. That's not very helpful is it?! I'm sure someone else has one and can offer an opinion, I think its becs, as it helps her keep track of her hormone levels IIRC.
Edit to add: if your schedule allows, the thing I would recommend above all is temping. Its the only way to confirm when/if you ov and its almost free! It lets you keep track of whats happening when and gives you a baseline from which to work (ov testing days/af dates/info your GP may need of you have a problem)Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.0 -

We went to Gretna Green, just me, OH and our little girl and I got married in a short emerald green monsoon dress. We then went back to our caravan (on a holiday park!), made spag. bol and took our daughter bowling to 'teach her how'!!!
Anything that makes you happy is the way to go!
:T Wow what a great wedding!!!
Our original plan was Gretna and not tell anyone... but sadly it didn't go to plan:(
Is it sad that I'm excited by using OV sticks for the first time???:o:rotfl:

Emmzy, it was me! Thanks for the thought - bit too fussy for me, I will probably pick something more like this one:

I said the colour and style would seem inappropriate to some!0 -
o0o no thats lovely! wee skinny dresses like that are in fasion just now... i just like the big puffys ones to cover all my lumps lol0

Ah thanks Emmzy, I know some would say *boring* but it is quite me, simple and plain!
I fancy the idea of Gretna Green, but OH is having none of it - he says either Vegas or something at home - so home it is then!
We won't be sending out invitations or anything like that, our immediate families will just get an email probably! Flowers will be kept to a minimum and it will probably just be a dinner afterwards, nothing else. So it will be very MSE I am hoping - don't want to dip in to my baby/IVF fund! I said we talked about it last night, I just didn't realise until now how much we decided in such a short space of time!
On CD26 and will test on Saturday as planned if nothing shows before then - but might go and get a FR test just in case I get the urge beforehand... does eating like a pig and being thoroughly lazy count as SS? :rotfl:0 -
Ooooooo weddings yay! I love a good wedding, mine cost far too much, not too MSE at all, but this was all before I had my LBM!! So it makes me cringe how much we spent, ouch!
It contributed to the huge amount of debt we ended up in, at least we have learnt our lesson now though ay!
Well I'm on CD11 and incredibly tired today, but if the OV stick says it's go time, then will have to pull myself together me thinks, hahaha!
Hope all the poorly chick-a-dee's are on the mend
Nearly home time, it's so hot in here, making me even more sleepy! :coffee:might be needed!

CHRISTMAS SOON WOOP! :xmassign: But been made redundant, grrrrrrrr!:eek:0 -
Madmac, that dress is GORGE! :T Who was it who decided that we need to wear a meringue dress for a wedding anyway???
OH's mum hit the nail on the head last night by saying it doesn't matter where you get married, what you wear or anything like that, just as long as you are happy. My mum wore a suit to her wedding to my dad and looked fab and that was 14 years ago (eeek! has it really been that long?!)
Have had a bad day, but it will be made better by banoffee pie and Damian Lewis (both uber yummy!)Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -
