    Hi Punkgirl, acronyms explained here:

    http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/abbrevs.htm

Yup, it can all take a bit of getting used to!

I don't have any personal knowledge of the Mirena coil, but I assume it is no different to coming off the pill - you just have to let your hormones settle down again and that could happen quickly or might take longer. You might have trouble at first knowing when you are OV, but OV tests and temp charting would help to work this out. I'm sure somebody with more knowledge will offer better advice than that!

Exciting though to be TTC, so welcome!

Lol I'm the same, haven't lived at home since I was 17 and been with OH since not long after I moved out, so we're hardly a new couple either! His family are quite traditional as well so probably think a baby will mean me given up work/career/studying etc - his mum didn't work at all after marriage!

Oh god OH's mam is like that, he told his parents we are TTC (I have no idea why, I didnt want them to know till we were pregnant lol) and that just started off a "oh you should really be married speech" I !!!!!!, we cant afford a big white wedding yet (and I want a big white wedding and I dont see why I should skimp on the wedding that I want just to keep other people happy) I just ignore then now, the times are changing for gods sake, we are engaged and have bought a house together, isnt that enough for some people for now.

We have decided to get married in about 5 years time once our loan is paid off, then that way (hopefully lol) our kids (if we are lucky enough to have them by then) can be a part of the wedding?

Am I crazy for thinking thats a good idea, cos I really want that now.

I'd just like to draw your attention to something I watched yesterday

I've been a fan of The Biggest Loser on ITV since it started 8 weeks ago and yesterday was the final

Kevin was crowned The Biggest Loser after losing nearly 10 stone in 4 and a half months

    Kev.jpg

I must admit I did let out a little shriek when he was revealed to everyone!!

It's this kind of thing thats giving me the motivation to lose weight!

Thats amazing, I am watching the biggest loser Australia, its on Sky Reallives at 8.30 every week night

Some of the people look so amazing!

I think there is only 2 weeks left of it

    Morning ladies,

Thanks for the lovely messages :) Think from time to time it just gets on top of me and I feel like the only person in the world that isn't pregnant...I seem to be surrounded by mothers of 'accidents'...But today I'm over it. OH loves me and we'll keep waiting patiently :)

Kindofagilr: getting married before having babies, I don't think it's a big deal really. I plan to marry OH before but out of choice not because I feel obligated to. The majority of parents I know are unmarried and I can't see why it would affect the child in any way, just old fashioned values I guess. My only issue would be not sharing the babies surname :o

I love dogs - would love to get one but OH won't let me as I'm working at the moment then running my own business at night so basically never stop. Once I finish the job I'm working on at the minute (2 weeks to go, eek!) he said we can reassess if I don't plan to go back into the 9-5 grind, very excited! He's never had a dog, only cats (we have 2 now) so he's not fussed, but I had the most lovable soft pathetic dog when I was growing up, she was just brilliant, and I'd love another one. I don't know much about dogs so plan to go for a look around the shelter and see which one I fall in love with first :o OH's concern with this is that we may well come away with all of them :rotfl:

I've been catching up on the Biggest Loser on the ItvPlayer (pure genius - i can watch Jeremy Kyle when work is quiet, woo hoo!!) - spurring me on to get into the gym every night!

Ooh and on TTC talk - I'm now on CD20, I think 2/3dpo, have become highly emotional and feel grotty, stuffy nose and horribly tired. But I'm not symptom spotting :rotfl:

Right had better get on with doing some work now - hope everyone has a nice day :) xxx

I am sure your time will come gymfiend :) hopefully this month eek

Yeah OH's parents are really old fashioned, my mam is fine with it, she knows we cant afford to get married yet and she knows how much want children (and although I am not over the hill lol I am 28 I want to have them soon, so IMO I think the wedding should be delayed a bit)

Oh and I have decided the children (hopefully lol) will have his surname then when we are married we will all have the same name

    Is that what you meant?

Yeah, OH and I can't agree on that. If we weren't married and had a baby now, I'd insist on my name and I rather suspect he'd try to insist on his name, so to solve the problem, we plan to get married first! I don't want a big wedding, the smaller the better, so it's more about working around the family issues at the minute than the financial issues!

  • I don't think it matters about being married/not before kids, if you love each other and your relationship is strong, what does a bit of paper matter either way? We got married in 2007 and when someone asked us why we were actually doing it, we both said that we'd been together for so long (8 years), we had a mortgage and that we both felt like we were more than just "boyfriend and girlfriend",and what an excuse for a party! MIL always insisted on referring to me as OH's "partner", I think people were surprised when I then turned out to be female :rotfl: Thank heavens she can say "wife" now, poor guy!

CD18 here, 4dpo, 9 days before I can poas. These may be the longest 9 days ever..

MIL'S are funny sometimes arent they lol

CD19 here, I think I ov'd late though, I was due AF on 2 July but I think I ov'd two days late so AF may be due 4th July?

    I think I am 2 dpo, 12 days till I can POAS

    Have I got that right?

I really need to stop reading about pregnancy symptoms, I can see me turning into a SS lol

I actually do feel sick, but I think its just cos lol I dont think its cos I am pregnant, cos even if I was I wouldnt be feeling it already would I?

I think we missed the boat this month.

I was meant to OV on 18 June (but I think I ov'd on 20 June)

We BD'd on 13 June, 16 June and 21 June.

What do you think? do we have a shot?

Good morning ladies, sounds like you have all been busy this weekend. Well OH and I had a very deep conversation on Sat, as OH sat on the floor and cried. He is so desperate for a baby, he seems to be struggling more than me. But i think talking about it may have helped.

Well having only bd'd twice at the right time, on cd22 and have chronic heartburn, which i don't get as take pills to stop acid production! Oh well, going to try and keep calm and carry on with a relaxed month, with the odd drink and lots of time for me and oh.

Welcome to all the newbies :)

Kencokenco, were you poss in the market for some ov tests? If so please pm me with your address and i can send you some, as i have a few and am not using them.

Huge amounts of baby dust to all :)
