    Hi everyone

My first message on this thread. My husband and I are on our 3rd month of ttc. At the moment I’m just using Fertility Friend to try and work out my dates, so far AF has been quite regular since I came off the pill with my cycles being around 25 days. Have just bought some ovulation sticks off Ebay to try out this month.

I am trying not to stress about this whole ttc thing but I am 35 in August and was on the pill for 19 years so I am now starting to panic that it’s going to take ages for everything to get back to normal and that my age is against me. I am also constantly seeing articles on TV and in magazines about the increased risks of being an older mum and they are worrying me too.

I know it’s early days yet so am keeping everything (well maybe not everything) crossed that we won’t be waiting too long.

    Hi Fairyshazza, welcome!

Quick question about OV tests: Trying them at the mo for the first time. FF reckons I should ovulate on thursday. Am I likely to see a faint line appearing before I ovulate, anytime from today really?

    Welcome Fairyshazza, good luck :)

Musogirl - I tend to get lines on ov sticks before ov that are slightly darker than normal, but not everyone does so you may or may not! Generally you'll always get a bit of a line as the LH surges before ov but is always in your urine. If you tested now/tomorrow it should be the start of the surge so you should get a positive soon :)

Musogirl I can't really say as I've not used any yet but the company I bought mine off had a very helpful chart on the auction which told you what cycle day to start testing on. I've re-typed the chart for you as it might be helpful.

Cycle is 21 days – start testing on day 5
Cycle is 22 days – start testing on day 6
Cycle is 23 days – start testing on day 7
Cycle is 24 days – start testing on day 8
Cycle is 25 days – start testing on day 9
Cycle is 26 days – start testing on day 10
Cycle is 27 days – start testing on day 11
Cycle is 28 days – start testing on day 12
Cycle is 29 days – start testing on day 13
Cycle is 30 days – start testing on day 14
Cycle is 31 days – start testing on day 15
Cycle is 32 days – start testing on day 16
Cycle is 33 days – start testing on day 17
Cycle is 34 days – start testing on day 18
Cycle is 35 days – start testing on day 19
Cycle is 36 days – start testing on day 20
Cycle is 37 days – start testing on day 21
Cycle is 38 days – start testing on day 22
Cycle is 39 days – start testing on day 23
Cycle is 40 days – start testing on day 24

I have a 25 day cycle so just to be sure I am going to start testing from cycle day 7 and see what happens :)

Morning ladies...well, afternoon now but at least I remembered the hello this time:rolleyes: I swear I'm getting scattier(is that even a word?!?)

    welcome to newbies:D:D

I'm feeling really fed up today:( Just feel as though we've been ttc for years and in actual fact we only started in Feb(I think:o)
Anyone else feel the same?!?! It's probably something to do with the mc too and if I'm on pre mc cycles AF is due in a couple of days but I'm not my usual moody self(I'm get really snappy:p) so think it's gonna be a long cycle this time:mad::mad: It's the not knowing that drives me barmy, I like everything to be on time so I know where I'm upto:rolleyes:

Just feel really deflated and miserable. Sorry for the misery rant but I really don't think DH understands....he's of the 'relax and it'll happen brigade':mad::mad:

Will be back when I've managed to shake off the misery!

  • Totally know what you mean confuzzled. :grouphug: Thats why I'm checking every sign I can get my hands on (literally in the case of some of them!!)

I'm not doing too bad at the mo, but that will change as I get further from ov. When I get all stressed and sad about it OH trots out the line that stress makes it worse, I should just relax blah blah blah  and when I'm feeling good and, say I feel hopeful for this month, he says he doesn't feel *hopeful*, that he'd be happy if it did but he's not *hoping*

This is the place to rant if you need it ;)

    Hello everyone!!
I'm feeling really fed up today:( Just feel as though we've been ttc for years and in actual fact we only started in Feb(I think:o)

It's the same here, we've only been officially TTC since Jan/Feb but as we TTC once before (then decided get married first or at least to wait until closer to the wedding which was in March) and we've been talking about TTC for 2 years now it just feels like forever. It's making me feel really down and all I want is a baby. It seems like everyone is pregnant or has babies but me and it hurts.

I'm on CD4 and waiting for AF to go away but have at least 2 weeks probably longer until OV as I have stupid long 36 day cycles :( that gets me down as well, not getting as many chances as everyone else because my cycles are a week longer than lots of people. It all just gets me down.

    Blah.

I really hope it works this cycle...really hope.

Dh does this and I'll mention a 'sign' and he'll be like 'whatever, no point getting excited til u know for definite' Grrr just wish he'd show some emotion for once! He's so laid back about everything he's virtually horizontal!!

Yeah we started around Jan/Feb can't remember which one now:rolleyes:
And I'm with you on everyone being pg...that or they have a frickin new born:mad::mad:
It honestly seems as though the world and his wife have a kid, even one of distant friends has announced shes pg.....37 and has never wanted kids, prefers to get !!!!!! or stoned..that poor kid has got no chance!

Does anyone else also feel like they're putting their life on hold til it happens??? I don't feel as though I can plan for the future coz I don't know whats going to happen inthe next 12months! I'd love to do a teacher training course but then once I'm qualified I might be heavily pg or have a new born and who'd want to 1-got to work or 2-take someone on whos pg!!!! Grr I just never know what to do for the best.

Plus the weathers miserable so is making me miserable too(I'm sure I've got SAD:rolleyes:)

Oh my god this has turned into a proper rant! Sorry girls:o:o:o

I'm sure I'll feel better once I've been to the shop for a BIG bar of chocolate:p

Thanks so much to everyone for their kind congratualtions!!

After i posted i had some bleeding, ended up yesterday in the early pregnancy unit for a scan and it turns out i'm only 5 weeks!! Dr had said 12 cos that's howe long ago AF was, but obviously with my dodgy cycles that means nothing!!

It's good though as it means I can be taking much better care of myself and i don't have to feel guilty that I got drunk on my sister's hen night and wedding now becuase i actually wasn't PG then!!

All good with the scan anyway, got the picture of the 2mm baby!! Going back in 2 weeks for another scan to check everything is definitely ok but all looking good at this stage!!

Good luck to you all! Thanks for all the really useful help, advise and support on here over the last 15 months of TTC!

Super sticky baby dust and love to all
