My mums having a fit about people were inviting to our wedding as well.. We have to invite a uncle that iv only met once and he was horrible to me I was only about 9 at the time. Yet my friend who she hates she doesnt want there. I told her if she was paying she could invite who she likes but im still skint so I guess shes not taking me up on the offer lol
My mum is the same lol. She had a go at me as my sister (who is 17) isn't going to be the cheif bridesmaid and my best friend is. I said to her, that my sister wont be able to handle the tasks that she will be assigned to. She wont be able to plan a hen party, and she doesn't want to be cheif bridesmaid anyway. (I spoke to my sis about it first explaining why i asked my freidn to be Cheif Bridesmaid) but she still wasn't happy with that lol.

EA, we have already decided that our wedding (ermm, not said yes yet!) will be immediate (and carefully chosen) family only and a couple of friends. The maximum number will probably be about 14 people which suits me fine! I know my parents would want the world and his wife to attend, so we are going to pay for the lot so that we keep control and final say in everything. No way am I going to have certain members of my family there! I would rather run away than go through that, and my OH knows it.

Have you considered picking a dress that allows for an expanding bump? I think I might!

Ooh, we might have 3 BFPs appear on here on the same day!!!!

OH wants us to run away and get married then throw a party for everyone when we get back. But i want a church wedding :p and we've already paid the deposit lol.

Well we've made a plan, if im not pregnant by August the latest, then i'll start looking at maternity wedding dresses. But im leaving the wedding dress hunt until January time, will be the time of sales to :D

    Ooh i hope we get 3 bfp's!! :)

I'm not getting married in a church. I don't go to church and (shush!) I don't actually believe in God *glup*

I just have to find somewhere to get hitched......more than likely the local registry office and two parties, one down here and one in the north east :T:T

:rotfl: Nor do i belive in god. Or go to church. :D

The church we're getting married in isn't a church of england. It doesn't force religion on you and if you've been divorced you can still get married there. I think its called a unitarian church or something.

I only wanted to get married in a church as its pretty :) And technically its classed as a civil ceremony as its not a church of england. Well thats what the lady said when we booked :)

I was brought up with Christian beliefs, but don't feel the church (in any flavour) is particularly practising what they preach. In fact in many ways I'm often disgusted by what the powers that be say and do.

So think I'll definitely opt for a civil ceremony - but EA, your option sounds interesting. So no set religious wording for your service I presume? Sounds good to me!

Ah thanks for the lovely feedback everyone. I guess you probably know what it's like Smartie, when you make something yourself it's hard to put a value on it because you don't want to put prices too high. The website is becsbabycakes but won't be updating it with new prices or pics until I get the new blankets. The new toys I use as well are a musical Miffy rabbit and Paddington Bear.
DH decided this afternoon that he really didn't want to do the 2 jobs I asked him to finish- 1 planing the bottom of the downstairs loo door as it catches on the front door mat, and secondly to do the silicone along the edge of the bath now the tiling is finished. He couldn't face doing either so decided the only way he would get out of it was by saying we were going out to buy a new tv for the bedroom! And they say women spend! So we went to an Argos clearance place and bought a nice 22" one and have just finished setting it up. Men eh, he knew shopping was the only way he'd get away with it! Mind you we did get a fab ferrari scalectrix set for my Godson's birthday!

The only family we had at our wedding was DH's sister. We wish we had stuck to our original plan and run away to Gretna.... just me, him and DS.

Becs... I've been shocked at how much people are willing to pay. I find it extremely hard to price my items but I now think of a price....then add at abit more!;)

Have you researched what other people are selling and at what price?

Sounds like a good plan Smartie!:D

The other cakes I've seen are around about the same price but their's usually use supermarket clothes and toys rather than the licensed toys and John Lewis clothes that I do. I like to try and stick to around the £35 - £40 because it's a good price for work collections (we get alot of those where I work so I get alot of orders!) and also it's about the same price as alot would spend sending flowers but obviously lasts longer. The first one I ever did was for a friend and she had it for 4 months before she could bring herself to take it apart!

I have to say it is a bit odd sometimes TTC with the bedroom that will be the nursery already full of babygrows and nappies and toys! I think they think I have triplets at least at all the supermarkets when I go and stock up on nappies!:rotfl:
