Sorry, should have said I used the pre-filled applicators. They only contain 4gm's each. :D
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • What a lovely thread. I'm always dubious of all these monitors and gadgets that you can buy that tell you "when is good" to conceive. What I'm going to suggest is too simple for most people to porbably take seriously but I do want you to think about what I'm saying at the least.
I have a little girl on the way in August and some say I was lucky, we just stopped using condoms and that was it! lol
Anyway, to the subject in hand. The best way to try for a baby is to NOT TRY for a baby!!! Your body is a complex machine and your mind alone could cause biological blocks. As I said above stop trying and start enjoying lovemaking, a female body is much more likely to accept a mans sperm if it is just enjoying the love making process. Orgasms can also play a major role in conception because when a woman orgasms a particular movement happens just outside our womb which contracts downwards and "catches" sperm helping it reach the egg for fertilisation. One certain positions can also play a negative role (woman on top) due to natural gravity. I really hope this helps and I swear by this advice! Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!

mandyt thanks for the advice, I'm glad you managed to conceive so naturally and easily. Unfortunately for a lot of us on this thread we fall foul to the complex female body and have various issues which makes conception in this way more UNLIKELY than likely. Statistics show that a "normal" healthy couple have a 1 in 4 chance of conceiving each cycle, the rest of us "un-normal" people rely on the "monitors and gadgets" to increase our chances to even this level if at all possible.
I would however agree that those just starting out do as you suggest but those of us who have been trying more than a year need the help. I would however reitterate my earlier posting which said that just becaise we use them it does not detract from the quality or pleasure that we have when trying for a baby. I would go so far as to say that side of my life is currently better than it has ever been.

I'm glad you enjoyed the boys;)

And I'm sorry you feel so down about AF doing a disappearing act:(

Can I join you in feeling down? I did some googling earlier (which I know you shouldn't do about medical issues:o) about my Crohns, nasty medication and pregnancy. Didn't really read anything I didn't already know so I don't even know why I looked:confused:

    Must stay positive!!!:j:j:j

My brother has Chrons as well, it was awful when the doctors didnt know what was wrong with him, he lost 4 stone in 4 weeks, he had been to the docs for 12 months and all they kept saying was oh your have a virus drink orange juice!?!?!?!?!, we thought he was going to die :( he was so thin you could see his ribs from his back, it was awful, then when he lost all that weight so quick the docs decided to up their game a bit, he got sent for a camera and he passed out with the pain as his whole intestine was covered in ulcers, he had 3 fissures and he was in a really bad way, the consultant was totally kicking off that the docs hadnt referred him before now!

So for the next 18 months he was on steriods, and tablets and he had to have this elastic band things in the fissures to block them back up, he is ok now, well of course he still has it but its under control, and I think he just decreased his tablets.

    It was horrible

    Morning ladies,

Hope everyone is good this morning?

Emmzy well done on biting the bullet :)
Kindofagilr - preseed is a sperm friendly lube! Apparently the sperm can live longer in it as it mimicks CM (I think...not used it but have read about it so don't know the ins and outs!)
Kenco that's brilliant news, well done AF for rearing her ugly head. It's bizarre really how women spend so many years dreading her but as soon as TTC starts it's a whole different ball game.

I'm CD15 today, having a great month bding wise so far, really enjoying one another at the moment and *try not to gag* am quite possibly more in love than ever. I think it's the sunshine & the gym giving us both loads of energy! Meant to do an ov test yesterday afternoon but forgot so going to try this afternoon, generally I've got positives on either day 15 or day 19, so the bding can commence in full as of tonight :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day, xxx

    :(

When I first diagnosed my consultant said he was surprised I was still able to stand:eek: I was very poorly and had also lost LOTS of weight. I remember the look on a nurses face in hospital when she put me on a the heart monitor thingy!

I wont bore you girls with my illness history but my medication is basically keeping me alive. I was hoping to come off it to TTC but the consultant said there would be no chance I'd conceive because I'd be very poorly. My only hope is to stay on my nasty tablets (as I call them:rotfl:) to TTC. Because my Crohns is "active" things aren't going to be easy:(

OH is brilliant and would of understood if I had decided not to go ahead with trying

Great news for those who have....and wanted AF:D

  • Hi all. Good news about the AFs for those of you who wondered where they'd gone! It just means your body is trying to get itself sorted, and at least now you ladies know where you are in your cycle.

Sorry to hear about your Chrons Smartie, OH's mum has that, she had one son then there was a big gap between OH's brother and OH, and I think that was when she had her surgery. Keep positive though, there's always a chance.

CD14 for me, got a peak on my monitor today :j Which is what I expected as I'd felt rotten yesterday and went woozy in Next (always seem to get dizzy spells just before my LH surge.) So woozy infact I may have brought a pair of pretty green shoes and a belt, not very MSE! Just need to muddle through my day and get some serious bding in tonight (though following our plan we've been BDing every day since saturday)

I have to say I agree with becs, though we do plan our bd to coincide with ov/fertile days, we bd a lot more than prior to ttc and I feel closer to OH than ever before and that aspect of our relationship is stronger and better for it. I do make sure I lie flat or with legs raised for a while after, but that doesn't mean its always bd in the same way and the same place ;)
Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.

As my mother always said, if you've got nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all

Well I can't stay quiet for long - I see nothing wrong with checking to make sure you are making best use of your cycle if you haven't been one of the lucky ones that just thought about it and got a BFP!

Kenco thats Fab news:T Hopefully AF isn't TOO painful....must be such a relief:D

Congrats to all those who were waiting & now have AFs now who's waiting to test?!?! I wanna congratulate a BFP now:rotfl:

I'm fed up of waiting for AF to arrive now...still got another 5days to go if I'm on track after the mc........Impatient? Moi? NEVER:rotfl:
If it doesn't turn up then I'll get seriously obsessed:rolleyes:

Had an odd dream last night that I was in boots and reachin out for a fertility monitor(It was £30 in my dream, dunno why it's relevant just really stuck out:o) but I couldn't quite grab it, everytime I tried my fingers were just out of reach.....what do you reckon that means??

    I figure it's either too expensive(which means even my dreams are MSE:rotfl:) or that I won't be needing it(although I'm 90%sure I'm out this month!)....I'm hoping for the latter:p

Ooo another thing..... my nipps are rock hard and sore!!! Been like that for a few days, anyone ideas why?? It's really annoying and completely ruins funtime in bed:mad:

    Sticky babydust to all xx

EDIT: I did it again:mad: I forgot to say hi to you all:rolleyes:

    Morning girlies
