I read somewhere that using certain positions can help the sperm get a little further on their way - well, every little helps!

Do you reckon there is any truth in that?

I thought that too madmac but then after OH broke his ankle I researched to find other ones that were just as helpful as he was in pain on top but it turns out it makes no real difference, as long as your on your back afterwards as the ones who dont make it sorta pool at the entrance and then the contractions with a orgasm draws more in or something like that

To the "helpful" advice given earlier(it REALLY bugs me when people say that btw its the most redundant advice ever), when we started TTC it was an accident we just forgot one time and then in the panic afterwards worrying about being PG we talked and thought why the hell not so for the first 8-12months it was relaxed and fun but after nothing happens you worry then start obsessing and charting days ect. I dont know how many people Iv wanted to slap for saying relax and it will happen...GRR:mad:

Its different for everyone really. My signs (and I'm still learning as months pass) are: dizziness, increased libido, feeling good about my body and my cm turns watery/egg white and there's lots of it! As I temp as well I expect to see my ov temp spike in the next couple of days. You can get the mittelschmertz pains (like a stab or achey cramp inside) but not everyone has them

^^ thanks for that, I have noticed my libido increase lol and I had a slight crampy pain in my belly earlier, I think last month I knew when I ov'd cos sometimes I get a pain in my ovary?

I am just not getting any of that yet

Can someone explain CM to me please, I think I know what that means but I am not 100% sure, and I dont have a lot of it at the minute (if I am right in what I am thikning lol) so I am guessing I am not going to OV today or even tomorrow x

In defence of the poster you are talking about, just relaxing can, and does work for a lot of couples.
When I first came off the pill I got pg during our second cycle. We were just having fun trying and I honestly thought that as I had been on the pill for over 15 years it would take much longer.
    Sadly I had a mc.
Tried again for 18 months with nothing happening so got referred to a fertility doc. Soon as the appt came through we relaxed because we knew help was on its way.
I got my second BFP before we got to the appt. Lost that one too and have had no more BFPs since.

We have now been trying for a successful pregnancy for just over 5 years.
You said it yourself, its very easy to become obsessed and start charting. Believe me I have been there so I'm not just saying it to back someone up.
It takes over your life, in and out of the bedroom and its not good for anyone.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

TMI ALERT! STOP READING IF YOU'RE EATING/SQUEAMISH!

So what I do is every morning in the shower I do a quick check with my middle finger, if I can feel my cervix easily its low, if its tricky is medium, if its disappeared its high. If it feels like my nose its hard, if it feels like my lip its soft. And after I do that I check the mucus on my finger by touching it to my thumb and pulling apart. If it stays in a long string its eggwhite, if its clear and liquidy but not stretchy its watery and if its cloudy and not stretchy its creamy.

    HTH
    xx

Your cervix is what you can feel at the top, blocking the entrance to your uterus. Its a harder different texture than the walls of your, err, foo-foo. Make sure your hands are very clean before you investigate, and be careful of sharp sides of finger nails and suchlike, its a delicate system in there and is easily damaged.

The most fertile cm is eggwhite, not all women will have it/notice it and it will vary in quantity woman-to-woman. This is the one that stretches when you pull it apart between fingers and truly looks like eggwhites!
This month is only the second month I've seen any myself.
The next most fertile is watery. But cm is around at different times and quantities for each woman, so maybe keep a record and see if you can work out any patterns you find over the coming months (unless you get your bfp ;))
