Trying For a Baby II

Hello everyone
OH and I are going to start TTC in July after our holiday in Cyprus (my brother is getting married over there and we are going for a two week holiday) I didnt want to start trying now, cos I would like to have a drink on holiday (nothing to excessive, I am not a big drinker)
I have been off the pill for over a year now and we are just using condoms as protection.
What can I do to prepare my body to give the baby as much a healthy start as possible?
Someone at work told me to take folic acid? how soon should I be taking them?
Is there anything else I need to know?Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Hi kindofagilr, i would suggest taking folic acid from now, some docs suggest starting to take it as soon as you come off the pill, but starting before ttc is a great start, then i think it is just try and have a healthy diet, there is nothing special to do to begin with, it is mainly all effort made after the elusive bfp! Good luck and enjoy the trying, join us on here as often as you like, we are always open to newcomers.
well i am a mess today, want to curl up in bed and cry! Oh well hopefully it will only last a day as i am not sure if i have ov'd yet so don't think i can get excited yet!

Hi again, your cycle looks to be about 28 days, so ov should (normally) be around day 10-15, have a look on Fertility Friend as this lets you put all these dates in and it will give you advice on when you may ov and what are your most fertile time. There are signs that let you know you are oving, the main one is having what is known as EWCM, tmi warning, this is the mucus you find around your vagina and it changes to very clear and sticky around the time of ovulation.
Good luck

Hi Ladies!
I have news! I couldn't help myself and tested again this morning and got a tlp - so tiny I thought maybe I was imagining things so I went out and splashed the cash on a clearblue digital twin pack (it was cheaper to buy 2 so that's kinda money-saving right?:o). Anyway, have spent the entire afternoon not drinking and trying not to think about it (yeah right) and have just got a BFP! :j
Obviously I am very excited but also very nervous after last time but reminding myself that my friend now has beautiful twin girls after her mc last year and this is a new pg and I should take it as it comes and hope it's a sticky bean. I am so pleased! It really can happen right after a mc!!!
Can't wait for OH to get in from work, he's going to be delighted
Sticky baby dust all round x
PS A bit of luck really, I was in danger of becoming a poas addict:eek:0 -
