Congrats Catherine
Emmzy don't worry too much about the dr's, I've found them really great, and you really do get used to dropping your trousers after a while!! I was found to have a pituitary tumour as I had no af for almost a year, but before discovering this I was sent to see a gyne who had my trousers down poking and prodding a few times, plus an internal scan to check for PCOS. I would think the first thing the Dr will do is check your bloods, to make sure all your hormones are in check, then send you for an internal scan. I found that having a laugh with the nurses made dropping my pants much easier (not that it was ever going to be easy!!), just gotta learn to grin & bear it and remind yourself of the bigger picture!
I was pee'd off this week - ov time and OH has gone out 2 nights on the trot so no action for me! Nevermind, always next monthWe had planned to BD throughout...think I managed Monday and Tuesday and think I ov'd yesterday..so suppose there is still a teensy chance.
Well done on the healthy eating ladiesI'm trying to diet and hit the gym every day, have managed about 6 out of the last 10 days which isn't too bad I guess! xx
Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
Woop woop - congrats catherine h :j If you want to tell people then tell them, the way I looked at it was to tell people I'd want to talk to if there were any issues, my Mum and my best friend. But hopefully everything will be a-OK and you'll have a happy and healthy 9 months:D
Madmac, Twinnings does amazing fruit teas and they come in a selection pack so you can find out the ones you like. I'm also quite partial to fennel tea.
gymfiend, apparently swimmers can last up to 5 days so you're definately in with a chance.
Well, I think AF is due Monday at the earliest so I'm sitting on my hands for now (I've never been the most patient person:o). My boobs are still sore (and have been for over a week), I'm tired, hungry all the time and having some seriously weird dreams - symptom spotting again I know but I just can't help it:o
Good news today, one of my best friends just had twins! Two beautiful girls after a mc last year. She's going to have her hands full, she's already got a 2 and a half yr old
Sticky baby dust all round x0 -
You must have read my mind - I've just bought the fruit selection pack! I can't stand eating fennel though, so doubt that one would be for me. Thanks for the heads up!
Sounds very much like SS to me, so I'll keep hoping for you x0 -
Congratulations Catherine, I really hope you're right about you starting a rush of BFP's although I'm only CD6 so start the SMEP on sunday!
Emmzy I second what Gymfriend has said, I was in the same boat and was also diagnosed with pituitary tumour. So I would imagine the first thing they will do is a full set of blood tests to see if there is any imbalance there. They will want to do CD3 and CD21ish bloods to check that you are ovulating. From then I would think they would do the internal ultrasound. Your other half will have his kit as well to submit a sample. My GP has also advised they don't refer anyone until they've done swabs on the women to make sure there are no std's affecting things! If everything on all of those come back I believe the next thing is a dye being injected into yor tubes whilst they scan to check for any damage or blockages. Quite often alot of women fall pregnant the same cycle as this for some reason. My friend did, she had been trying for 2 years and within a week of having the dye treatment she fell pregnant. She is now mum to a gorgeous 6 month old baby girl!0 -

CD12 +ve OPK today, loads of EWCM, managed to BD again & will try to BD tomorrow & sunday at least, then in to 2ww.
I find the 2ww the hardest part as I have no patience, always testing too early.
We only have this cycle & next before DH starts his drug trial for his MS, we can't TTC as the drug is unlicensed & the effects on a foetus aren't known. We are waiting to see if we can get funding either from the drug company or NHS for either IUI or IVF, his consultant seems sure that he will be able to swing it, we already have sperm stored from when he was first diagnosed, but I would prefer to do it naturally if we could.
I just feel that at 43 & with DH's health problems time is running out for us & I don't want our DS who is 5 to grow up an only one.0 -

I found it painful both times but everyone has different experiences and some women said it didn't really bother them.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Congratulations Catherine, I hope you have a happy and smooth 9 months ahead!
Nothing much to report here I'm afraid, had some spotting the last couple of days, not sure if it's linked to my mc (3 weeks ago) or what it is
Lots of sticky baby dust to all

Hi Emmzy,
As Shelly says everyone is different. My friend that conceived the same week said she felt a little uncomfortable when they first put the dye in but then it was fine. She swears she thinks that she conceived the day after so there was certainly no long term discomfort if she was up to that the next day!0
