dizziblonde, sounds like you're in the same boat as me, I'm overweight.

I know that it's possibly my weight thats stopping me conceiving, but I was reading a magazine today about a 38 Stone woman who gave birth in America, and then the woman from Coventry who was 29 stone who had triplets and I have realised that if women this big can get pregnant, then why can't I?

I'm not as big as these women (although in my head I'm bigger than I am if you get my drift) and I'm eating more healthier in an attempt to have children. I am now at the stage where I am prepared to do what ever it takes to lose the weight, although I actually do hate exercise!!

Fingers crossed for you hun, but if you ever want a chat, feel free to pm me

    Hi EA and hugs
I was also on the pg thread with you, we had the same due date, I miscarried at about the same time as you and had a D & C the day before you, so I feel like I have twin on here!! We are going to start trying straight away too, and hopefully it will happen quickly ( I was lucky on our 2nd month last time).

I am still a bit of an emotional wreck at the mo, everytime someone asks me how I am I burst into tears! My boss is being really good and has said that I can take more time off if I need it, but to be honest I just want to try and get back to normality.

Well hugs to all who need it and lots of very sticky baby dust to all

Nunny I know exactly what you mean. I am the same size and weight now as I was at the time of both my BFP's but to get any kind of help I need to lose weight. Even going privately they have a certain BMI you have to be.

I have lots of friends who are bigger/more overweight then me but have no problem conceiving. Just sods law that because we need help we have to 'conform' and be a 'normal' size/weight.

I have lost 3 stones on weightwatchers before but really don't want to be that strict again if I can help it because it made me quite ill, not physically but mentally, I got very down and would cry at the drop of a hat!

I don't eat excessively but I don't excercise, thats my problem. When I did start cutting down portion sizes, using a workout DVD and using the treadmill we have I did lose a few pounds and felt great.
Then that stopped when my Dad had a serious car accident and I was at the hospital everyday. He's now ok but I just can't get back into the routine.

I've started going down the gym most nights - it hurts like hell but I've got to do something and I'm useless just dieting. Trouble is - eventually muscle is going to weigh heavier than fat so looking at my BMI I'm still going to be too heavy. I reckon I've got about 9 stone to shift, I'm 30 now so I'm scared time's going to run out for us. Overweight people are the new demons of the world anyway - look at programmes like Holby City to see how they're being painted and how people view it as completely acceptable to refuse medical help to them to the extent I've not even bothered registering with a doc since I moved as there's no point.

Working with kids all day as well, and seeing some of the parents who drag their kids in and don't give a damn about them shreds the soul.

  • catherine h, how on Earth have you not tested yet??? You're a stronger woman than I am! Sounds good, I'll keep my fingers crossed. And no, you're not the only one, I don't need to google early pregnancy symptoms anymore, I know them off by heart :o

Anyhoo, there's 3 bottles of wine in the fridge, magazines to be read and The Apprentice to look forward to tonight - happy days :D
Sticky baby dust all round x

Iheartfreebies - No idea how I've not tested yet...probably through fear that I'm completely wrong! Although I'm feeling like carp again this morning:rolleyes: I want to wait until OH are home together before I test too, n that isn't going to happen til Sunday & I've decided to only test 1st thing in the morning so Sunday morning I'll know one way or the other, I've just got to keep busy until then:D
Your evening sounds lovely, how many bottles did you manage to finish!?!? :D

For those trying to lose weight, if you have a wii fit do all the Yoga & fitness exercises you've unlocked every other day and you'll soon notice the difference...OUCH!!! It's more fun than the gym too, although do close the curtains so no one can see you, my neighbour clocked me once and knocked on the door to make sure I was ok:rotfl:

Good morning ladies :) Congrats to all the BFPs!! that is fab news.

Well i had a wonderful weekend away, seeing friends, spending lots of time with OH, walking up huge hills round edinburgh!!!! Ouch! and a fair bit of bding :) All in all it was perfect.
So now i have to work out my cycle??? and see what happens, we have been bding quite a bit and we are both hopeful, although both aware that we have no idea what my body will do this month.

Lots of sticky baby dust to all :)

I tried the gym once and personally it wasn't for me. I was the only 'large' person there. I didn't like it at all.
Also as you say, muscle weighs heavier than fat so that put me off too.

What I have done....and will start again sometime :D....is to make my meal portions smaller and when I fancy a snack I have in the house low fat crisps, yogurts and plenty of fruit.
So I don't fell like I am dieting at all. I am still eating what I usually do just less of it and lower fat versions of it.
I have a few excercise routine DVD's too and they are great. I especially like Davina McCalls one.
We have a treadmill and elliptical thingy here at home so I use those too.

Shelley, last time I was weighed I checked my BMI and it was 39.4 but I looked at the highest "normal" reading at a BMI of 25, that means I need to be about 12 stone:eek:.

I'm 5' 8" and I'm about 19ish stone and a size 24, but I'm BIG if you get my drift, I'm built big with big sholders and a big back. If I lost 7 stone I'd be skin and bone!!

I was watching "The Biggest Loser" on ITV the other day and one of the women on there is 15 stone 8 pounds and she's a size 22. 4 stone lighter than me and only a dress size smaller. Work that out!

I never pay any attention to BMI, as at the end of the day they go on weight, and thats the wrong way to do it. Body builders (who are muscle) according to a BMI scale would be clinically obese. But most of them have a small percentage of fat on their bodies

I'm not a fan of exercise but I'm looking at getting an exercise DVD, like Davina's as I've been told hers is one of the best, and fingers crossed this will help me:T

Anyway, CD5 of 31 and AF is nearly gone, going to try the SMEP this month, but I think I've got my In Laws coming to stay for the weekend and thats going to interrupt the plan a little as OH don't like bd'ing when he's in the same house as them (lol!!)
