Trying For a Baby II

I never pay any attention to BMI, as at the end of the day they go on weight, and thats the wrong way to do it. Body builders (who are muscle) according to a BMI scale would be clinically obese. But most of them have a small percentage of fat on their bodies
I understand what you are saying but to get help on either NHS or Privately they still use your BMI to calculate wheter you can get help or not.
In our area you have to have a BMI of 30 or under to get NHS help and to go privately you have to have a BMI of 35 or under.
A consultant of mine thinks the BMI calculations need changing to take into account body shape, muscle density etc etc and should also take personal circumstances into consideration.
Because I have conceived twice whilst being this size/weight he thinks we should get help without having to lose weight.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Or is it best to wait?!?!?! Think I'm a bit scared of testing incase its a BFN and I'll be gutted:(
Arrrrggghhhh.....I haven't got a clue what to do:mad:

Catherine h if you can wait i think you should, i know it is tough, but if you can hold out a little longer then it will be more accurate. I think you are being very strong and if you can keep it up it may help.
Well i am knackered so turning off the computer now, have a good evening everyone, hope there is some bding going on

Thanks Shelly,
I can't tell you how good it felt to read that! We've been TTC for 2 years now and because of a pituitary tumour we haven't been able to. We are hoping that now my hormone levels are all normal because of the meds that we will be able to conceive naturally. I was always scared about pushing for further treatment if we needed it because of my weight, I have a BMI of 39.5 and a dress size of 18/20 but am unable to lose weight despite trying everything. My weight went up because of the tumour and is also why it is impossible to shift. We have a healthy varied diet and it really depressed me that we would be ruled out because of this dam tumour when others like Leeann Salt conceive triplets naturally at 29 stone and then proceed to give them bit sof takeaway junk food from the age of 6 months! To read that she thinks her children have a healthy diet because she gives them microwave food and vegetables on a sunday! OMG! Why is life so unfair!
So thank you for that article I can not begin to tell you how positive it has made me feel!0 -
You are so welcome ladies!
I am going to call my GP surgery tomorrow and ask them what the new 'eligibility criteria' are.
I'll post back when/if I get some answers.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi EA and hugs
I was also on the pg thread with you, we had the same due date, I miscarried at about the same time as you and had a D & C the day before you, so I feel like I have twin on here!! We are going to start trying straight away too, and hopefully it will happen quickly ( I was lucky on our 2nd month last time).
I am still a bit of an emotional wreck at the mo, everytime someone asks me how I am I burst into tears! My boss is being really good and has said that I can take more time off if I need it, but to be honest I just want to try and get back to normality.
Well hugs to all who need it and lots of very sticky baby dust to all
Hi there, only just logged on this morning and saw this. I remember you having the same Due date as me now
Fingers crossed for us both for next time, maybe we'll have the same due date again
We got lucky on our 3rd month, because as soon as i see i had a positive OV test me and OH BD'd like 5 times over the 48 hour period :rotfl:
I've been back at work two days now. And found out today that they didn't pay me sick pay, so i have to speak to HR later...

Good morning ladies,
I hope you are all well? Give them what for today EA!
I had a wobble last night, we had to go and buy a card for some friends who have just had a beautiful baby boy amd it made me cry so much! My OH was a little shocked, it was in the middle of sainsburies at 9.30pm! Oh well.
I think AF may be on her way, not feeling great, and weepy, but wont give up hope until she arrives, i don't think she is due until sometime next week (wed or frid?)

I was very strong last night and didn't test although my house is now sparkly clean:rotfl:
Still no AF or symptoms and absolutely shattered today along with a good ol' churning in the stomach.
Don't know how much longer I can hold out....might have to test tonight or in the morning before Dh goes to work.......if only for the sake of my sanity:D
Have you managed to sort out your sick pay EA???Debt [STRIKE]£52,656.60[/STRIKE]_pale_£41273.42:)
