Thanks to everyone for your virtual hugs, it really helps letting it all out on here as I know I'm in the same position as many of you.

    Hugs to you to Leopardlady

    And Congratulations to Skintsaver x

Lots of sticky baby dust to you all
    xx
  • Thanks for all your kind thoughts. I got a text from my friend today to say that the baby has cancer. She had a big operation today and will be getting scanned and more tests this week and will start chemo next week. She asked me to inform our other mates but they had loads of questions that I couldn't answer as I haven't had a chance to talk to her as she is in the hospital. I don't even know where the tumour is. If it was any of my other mates I would've called their mum but in the nearly 20 years we've been friends I've never met her mum. I've texted her to let her know that I'm here if she wants a chat or if she needs a hand with her other 2 girls (12 & 13). I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through.

    Ah Scottishchick:grouphug:
It's so hard even more so when it's little ones. My Godaughter was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour when she was 8, although she went through so much with the operation to remove the tumour and then a year of chemo and radiotherapy she rarely let it get her down. I think kids are so much more resilient than adults sometimes probably because they don't know the full reality I guess. I'm very pleased to say my Godaughter is now a happy healthy and Cancer free 14 year old.
  • I've just received another text and now I know which hospital she is in, it's not our local one but it is a good one for sick kids. The cancer is neuroblastoma. I hadn't heard of it before but I've googled it and there is better prognosis if its a young child so hopefully as she is only 6 months this is good news. I'll keep you all updated. X

  • hi all, i've been lurking for a few months, have been TTC since xmas and not happened yet, though it would be really easy since was on the pill when i got pregnant the first time!!!

was a week late this month which really got my hopes up but the AF arrived yesterday and i'm really gutted.

sil is currently preganant and one of my friends from work, am trying to be happy for them but am actually quite jealous which i'm the feeling guilty over!!! it's all just feeling a bit rubbish at the moment!

anyways am wishing everyone the best of sticky baby dust and hopefully it'll catch me soon

Ah Scottishchick, big hug being sent your way. That is awfully sad and I'll say a prayer to whoever will listen for a speedy recovery. Cancer is always such a feared and frightening word, but it isn't the death sentence it used to be - my father is proof of that, thank goodness. You are being such a good support to your friend and taking the rough with the smooth will really help, I'm sure x

Catw0man - good to hear from you and thinking of you x

    Skintsaver - wow!!! Congrats hun.

Hi Beckyandjack, welcome. We all know exactly how that feels - we get our hopes up as our cycle days trot by and then AF arrives with a bang! It used to feel like the world and his wife were having babies, but I'm getting better at ignoring it all and have the guilty jealousy in check. Ah, the fun of TTC x

Scottishchick, so sorry to hear about your friends baby, but I agree with MadMac about it not being a death sentence anymore.

congrats skintsaver & elastigirl! I've been naughty and forgot to check this thread for BFPs...the Preg thread is good, but all these discussions about MCs is scary and makes me want to come back to the relative safety of this thread!

much sticky dust for us all with recent BFPs...and sending massive good baby vibes to everyone else...

    Evening all,
    Congrats Skintsaver:j
So sorry to hear about your friend baby scottishchick - bighugs

I've been using opk's for a while now and i EVENTUALLY got a positive result on monday. Only managed to bd once so fingers crossed. Thing is my cycle has been soooooo long so far currently at 90ish days, so how long do i have to wait before i do pg test? I was thinking 2-3weeks. That means i can test till between the 4th and 10 of may! That seems like forever away. I'm soo impatient too:rolleyes:
